Appearance: Shining Snow is a male unicorn colt with a blue mane streaked with lighter blue, a white coat, and ominous red eyes.

Cutie Mark: Shining Snow's cutie mark is a black snowflake. However, it is usually covered up by the black cloak he inherited from his father.

Personality: Shining Snow has always been somewhat socially withdrawn. Due to the nature of his birth, he has been made an outcast by his fellow ponies. But beneath his cool, somewhat melancholy exterior, Shining Snow is a very responsible, dedicated young colt with a deep-seated sense of right and wrong. He always tries to stand up for what is right, but unfortunately the choice isn't always so clear.

Backstory: Shining Snow grew up in a home for orphan ponies in Canterlot. He never met his parents. All he knows of his father is that he is a brave, virtuous knight who has saved Equestria on more than one occasion. Whether that is true or not, he couldn't say. Shining Snow, eager to prove himself, enlisted in the Canterlot Royal Guard despite his young age. His first assignment brought him far into the northern wastes of Equestria. All he brought with him is a mysterious black cloak - an inheritance passed down by his as-yet unknown father.
