Personality: Obviously, his passion is blacksmithing, but he also enjoys socializing with his friends, and going out to parties occasionally. Although he wants to be in a relationship, he often gets very nervous around mares. He is a no nonsense kind of pony. He doesn't believe in self-pity, grudges, or senselessness. Obviously, he is ok with being silly sometimes, but he has a firm sense of when it is acceptable. He takes his work seriously, but gives each weapon and piece of armor and tool he makes his own personal flair, trying to make them unique from one another. He also believes that if an opportunity is presented, it should be taken.

Backstory: Silver Dusk was born in a small town on the outskirts of Las Pegasus. His family was middle class, so he received a reasonable education from the local school. Much to his parents chagrin, he never really cared much for writing and such. They had hoped that he could become a scribe and rise above his class in life. <br /><br />Silver would much rather take apart anything that he could find, and then try to put it together again. He started nagging the local blacksmith to let him watch for so long that the will of the blacksmith, who was simply referred to as Hammer, broke and he let Silver watch as he forged some simple tools. With his heart captured by the roaring fire and the clang of metal, Silver begged his parents to let him apprentice, and finally, they gave way. <br /><br />Hammer taught Silver all that he knew, but one fateful say five years later, Hammer passed away in his sleep, leaving everything to his son. His son always despised Silver, thinking that Silver stole his fathers affections from him. And so, with his parents moved far away, Silver was on his own. He had enough money for a train ticket and maybe a months worth of food, so he decided to go somewhere with opportunity: Canterlot. <br /><br />Stepping onto the train platform after saying his goodbyes, Silver knew that his life would never be the same. But luck had not abandoned him. Upon his arrival in Canterlot, he noticed that there was a flyer for a blacksmiths assistant. Luckily, he was able to swallow his pride and meet his would be employer, owner of one of the larger smithys in town. His name was Iron Smelter, and he was a hulk of a stallion, whom earned Silvers respect quickly. His skill apparent, Silver was able to rise ill through the ranks, but needed a breakthrough. After months of searching, he found it. He found that a stone imbued with magic could be infused into metal, giving it properties such as added strength or durability. Some metals could even have special properties, such as self-repairing. But complex charms such as this were extremely difficult and limited in effectively. Even so, his fame as a blacksmith soared, and he was recruited as one of the master blacksmiths for the royal guard. <br /><br />Now Silver has the freedom to travel on a fairly regular basis, which he greatly enjoys. He does regret that he hasn't found love yet, but remains hopeful.
