Appearance: <p> He has a gray pelt and silver mane / tail. His eyes are amber. He loves to wear a dark brown jacket and hat.<br /><br /> When ever he is not wearing his hat, his mane is often unkempt and messy. </p>

Cutie Mark: <p> Is a black spade with a gold dollar sign stretched across it. It represents his love of gambling and making profit. </p>

Personality: <p> He's very calm and laid back. He often sees life as another adventure or game.<br /><br /> -Greedy, he won't pass up an opportunity involving the right amount of bits.<br /> -loves to talk (and fast sometimes to)<br /> -Is prone to make mistakes<br /> -He's actually very kind when it comes to giving money and cares about his friends quite a bit (no amount of money can change that) </p>

Backstory: <p> Spades (as he likes to be called) grew up in a very poor household in Baltimore. His parents always managed to get by, but only barely. Even as young stallion, he could see the way they worked and often came home stressed out and tired; and he would just sit and watch them. He felt completely useless to his family.<br /><br /> One day, Spades was at school and saw a few ponies playing a game that his father once played with him for fun. It was called 21, but as he recalled. 'Any type of game involving playing cards are banned in school.'<br /><br /> Curious as to what was going on, Spades took a closer look. He saw that the ponies placing down bits and claiming them once they had won. He realized, 'This must be that gambling thing mom and dad always tell me to stay away from.'<br /><br /> He spent a few moments staring at the cards, a little lost in thought, until a pony called him out.<br /><br /> "Hey, are ya going to stand there with ya mouth gapein', or are you here to place a few stakes."<br /><br /> He looked at the pony dumbfounded at first, almost like he didn't know what was going on.The pony on the other hand, spotted fresh meat. "Aw, don't tell me ya shy?" He and his 'friends' had a small laugh and got the reaction the desired out of Spades. "Tell ya what. How much ya got kid?"<br /><br /> Spades Thought about it for a moment before showing the pony ten bits, that served as his lunch money for the week. Then the pony did something Spades found a little shocking.<br /><br /> He held out twenty to his ten and asked, "Want to play?"<br /> ~<br /><br /> When he sat down to play, the ponies thought he wouldn't even know the rules to the game and planned on robbing him.<br /><br /> Once the cards were dealt, a pony, with a rather large grin, said. "I'll stand at 19." Then dealt Spades his cards. The first was a f, the second a six, by then Spades could already feel his heart pounding, thinking about what he could lose or win. He looked the pony in the eye and said, "Hit me..." And was given a jack of spades. "? I... 21?" That was the begging of a bad habit and useful talent to pay the bills at his home. </p>
