Siobhan
Age: 22
Gender: Female
Species: Unicorn
Appearance: Her undercoat is a pale mix of bracken and white with a spring grass green overtone. Her mane is forest green with streaks that match the overtone of her coat. Her eyes are sea foam green, and she wears a green traveling cloak.
Cutie Mark: The Celtic symbol for Life.
Personality: The best word to describe Siobhan would be maternal. Or motherly.
This means that she is ruled by her trust and compassion for others. This is both good and bad depending on what others do with it. It's both her strong suit and her mortal flaw.
She acts as a mentor to those close to her; gently guiding them down the path they have chosen as best as she can.
Siobhan is a firm believer that you must choose to go your own way. She cannot choose for you, no one can; but regardless of your choice, she will do all she can to help you.
Her wisdom is an attribute of having to grow up at a young age. Siobhan lost her family when she was young, but in time gained a new one. No matter what path she's traveled down, she believes she must learn from every decision, whether you regret said decision or not. There is always something to take away from the outcome; good or bad.
Backstory: Siobhan was born into a small, but loving family in the wide, rolling fields of Ireland. During her formative years, her family would always take walks deep into the woods on the other side of their town. Her mother had always told her the ancient legends and folklore of the magic that lay deep within the forest.
One afternoon, as they were walking, Siobhan saw something. Her mother had never gone into detail about the will-o.-the-wisps, just that they were lost souls, and to see one meant that either someone had been murdered, or they were about to be...
The next morning, neighbors of the family went into their house to discover most of the furniture and upholstery splattered in sticky, scarlet blood. Siobhan was found in an equally blood-covered office room: twitching and muttering about monsters while sitting in front of a small, shattered mirror.
Afterwards, there was talk of sending her to an asylum. They waited months and she continued to act as strangely as she did when she’d been found. She never seemed to really look at anyone, but stare through them; like she was seeing something else…like she was somewhere else entirely. It came to the point where many became wary of her, as it had seemed that she had truly snapped inside. She’d be cared for at an asylum, both physically and mentally. At the last minute, an old friend of Siobhan’s mother, a kindly mare named Klarix, stepped forward and requested she be allowed to watch over her. Her request was granted and she was allowed to bring Siobhan into her home in Canterlot.
It was here that she met Darkessie. Darkessie was the biological daughter of Klarix, and an only child. She was also the first pony Siobhan spoke to in almost a full year. After that, she and her adopted sister were inseparable. As they grew older, Siobhan eventually told both her and Klarix what happened that night. Her adopted mother just nodded, her only response being: “I was afraid of that.”
Siobhan, ever since the night her family had been killed, had been able to see Inorganics; creatures of the Astral Plane. While not exactly demons, Inorganics could take the form of anything: a pony, a dragon…a wisp. Inorganics live to feed off the energy of the living. Most could not see them in the Physical Plane, as they did not exist there. However; Siobhan’s Third Eye was exceptionally strong, giving her the ability to see the creatures that dwelt among them, just out of sight. She and Darkessie taught themselves to Lucid Dream and perfected the art of Astral Projection. With the ability to pull their souls out of their very bodies, they could wander anywhere they pleased and next to no one would see them. However, they could sense a storm brewing. It was the very same feeling Siobhan had gotten the night her family died.
Then came the ponies that could see them as they walked invisible to all the rest. These were the ones they deemed chosen. If you were seen while in an Out of Body Experience, it meant that the one seeing you also had a strong Third Eye.
They named their secret order the Lucerna. In the beginning, Siobhan and Darkessie started with four followers who would later be referred to as The Origins. In time, their organization grew to substantial power. Only Celestia and Luna knew of their existence; and though not affiliated with the Royal Sisters, Lucerna often aided any problems they had concerning the other Planes of existence.
Siobhan moved to Cloudsdale, both to independently search for answers as well as to become a teacher. She started small, teaching classes of younger ponies before getting her final degrees and becoming a professor at a University, where she taught a few, select students the secrets of the Astral Realms, as well as the Dark Ages.
Siobhan and Darkessie, now known as The Weaver and The Keeper respectively, decided to build a sanctuary, a massive cathedral, for their followers. It would be a place to hide or to rest whenever needed. No one would be turned away. It would be built entirely underground, a secret hiding place. They named the cathedral Celatum, and the entire structure spanned the underbelly of an entire city. They experienced just two more years of peace before all hell broke loose.
The Sota Peilin ((War of the Mirror)) was considered the war to end all wars. Every battle occurred on the Astral Plane, rendering the entire bloody affair invisible to all regular inhabitants of Equestria. It ended with most of the Lucerna dead or defeated. The creatures they were fighting disappeared, as did both Siobhan and Darkessie. They remain missing to this day. The Celatum was abandoned and fell into disrepair.
The surviving members of the Lucerna went underground, anxiously praying for the day that the Weaver and Keeper returned to them.
