Appearance: Somber is a dark, bat-pony. He wears the crest of Luna on his chest, which holds his tattered cape in place. His wings have a tear in them, yet his mane and tail are neatly kept; they are a dark gray color. His body is riddled with scars from a Changeling attack. His eyes are yellow with a long black sliver for pupils.

Cutie Mark: Somber's cutie mark is a full moon with a bat in the foreground. Somber got it when he was a foal;<br />Somber had always been fascinated by the moon, wondering how it could light up the night despite being smaller than the sun. Somber would fly towards the moon, but would never reach it. One night, Somber ventured too close to changeling territory trying to reach the moon. The changelings attacked him, piling onto him. Certain that he was going to die, Somber shed a tear as he realized he would never see the beauty that was the moon. Suddenly, a loud voice beckoned from the sky: It was Luna. She had saved Somber from certain death. Somber looked up at her as he saw the moonlight shimmer behind her. At that moment, Somber knew what he wanted to do with his life. Serve Luna and repay her for her kindness.

Personality: Somber is often seen as cold to some ponies. He has never been around other ponies besides his own kind. Because of this, Somber can be caught staring at ponies not knowing what they are. Somber tries his best to make friends, often doing things he wouldnt want to in order to stay friends with the other pony. If he is asked about his scars, Somber will shy away from the conversation.<br /><br />At times, Somber appears clueless. He was only active at night, so being out in the day time makes him nervous. If he is out in the daylight, Somber will roam around, taking in the sights in awe.<br /><br />Somber will sometimes get a mood change whenever its nighttime and a full moon. When these conditions are present, Somber will change into a predator type and look for a fight.<br /><br />Somber is used to being alone, so if another pony tries to flirt with him, it will fly over his head.

Backstory: When Somber was born his parents left him alone in the world. He would crawl through damp forests, jagged rocks, and more all while crying. Somber would cry himself to sleep, hungry, cold, and alone. One cold night, two bat-ponies found him shivering in a pile of rocks. The pair took him back to their home in a mountain side. <br /><br />The home was in a cave, but was not cold or dark. Instead the cave house was warm, and decorated with fancy decorations. The fire pit was even fancy, as it was raised from the ground and surrounded by gold foundations.<br /><br />The pair of bat-ponies decided to adopt Somber and name him. Somber grew up with the two bat-ponies, who would take care of him and teach him how to fly.<br /><br />Somber continued to live a happy life until his adolescent years. His parents sat him down and told him that he was adopted. When Somber questioned why were they the same(meaning bat-ponies) His adoptive parents told him that all three of them were bat-ponies.<br /><br />Somber's adoptive parents also told him that two mares can not have a baby. Somber flew out of the cave, shortly afterwards. Two days later, Somber's parents found him at the foot of the mountain staring at the moon.Somber embraced his parents and went back inside the cave. <br /><br />A few years later, Somber decided to leave the cave and search for his place in the world. He hugged his parents and set off. Somber got into a lot of situations after that. Currently, Somber sticks around the EverFree Forest. Somber sticks mainly to the caves.
