Cutie Mark: Soulfire got his Cutie Mark, a flame, because of his special talent with fire. He earned it when he held back a forest fire by himself until help came, during the annual Running of the Leaves. The leaves falling because of the race had fallen on a campfire that somepony had left burning unattended.

Personality: While Soulfire is a thrill seeker like many pegasi, he knows when to tone things down, recognizing when stunts are getting too dangerous. He is also a very logical and objective thinker, sometimes appearing to be uncaring, while actually just knowing that the smartest way might not be easy to do, even if it will be better in the end. Never peer-pressured into things, he taunts bullies with his wit, and his quick-thinking mind always has a comeback ready. Though usually opposed to making decisions based on emotion, he is very passionate about a few things, and will rarely give way in an argument. However, he doesn’t let pride get in the way of admitting when he’s wrong.

Backstory: Soulfire was born to a Unicorn stallion and an Earth pony mare, on route to Canterlot aboard a flying ship. His family was having serious financial troubles in Baltimare, so they had paid with what little money they had left for passage to Canterlot with a circus troupe, hoping to make a new life there. With his mother, Treewatcher, having had him earlier than expected, his father, Sunray, decided that they could not take proper care of a newborn foal on a cramped ship. They got off at the next stop, Ponyville. Though they intended to head to Canterlot once Treewatcher was well enough to make the journey, the young family ended up staying in Ponyville, and Sunray took a job in the Mayors office, first as an assistant, but was quickly promoted to an administrative position once his intelligence was recognized. Treewatcher started up a garden supply shop near the edge of town. Soulfire led a fairly ordinary life, but had a number of brushes with danger as well, and can handle himself in a tough situation.
