Backstory: Spellbind seemed like a normal unicorn. But there was something slightly off... there was a problem with her horn. As one would know, Earth ponies can still give birth to Pegasi and Unicorns if DNA for those species exists in their gene pool. But Spellbind was afflicted with a rare condition that meant the horn wasn't fully formed... this makes magic a huge problem for her, and when she was old enough to comprehend her position she felt ostracized and "not one of them". But she's been regaining self-confidence and reassuring herself that there's a place for her in this world, and that one day she'll be happy and free of her internal conflict.
