Appearance: <p> A coat similar to Twilight sparkles, but more pastel and slightly lighter with a more blue hue to it. Mane and tail style is similar to Cherilee, but is mono colored in a medium purplish blue. Personality: <p> Sweet, mature, and very passionate about magic. Her number one drive is to protect everypony with her defensive spell mastery.  </p>

Backstory: <p> Star Petal came from a Military Family, a long time ago there was a 3 year war between the pony states to the far east, and the former goat tribals from the south east. Her parents were fighting in the war, but their forces were very small, so the sheer numbers of the goats were pushing the ponies back until it started to reach their village. Fearing their children would be in danger, they started to evacuate the city, but it was too late, the goat militant forces had reached the city. In a last ditch effort to get them to safety, the adults stayed behind as all the filly's were put onto a cart heading out of the city. Star Petal was almost too young to remember a whole lot at that time, but what she does remember is that her mum and dad were exceptionally good at defensive magic and shields. The last thing she remembers was being afraid and seeing her mothers face smiling at her, telling her she was going to be OK. Her parents put up a very large magical barrier, and she could only remember seeing the barrier from a distance some time after they left the city at some fast speed, beginning to crack.  </p> <p>   </p> <p> About a year later, she was in a orphanage that also doubled as a school for homeless and orphaned filly's and colts. She was admired by her friends because she could at a very young age, cast magic. But was too far away from any city to be noticed by anyone who would take her away to canterlot, or any magic academy. What was very amazing, is that she never actually "studied" magic at all, she could just create magic as if it came naturally to her. As if she knew the spells without ever having to study a magic book at all as she could already cast very complicated spells that normally only second year magic academy students would have the knowledge after a lot of study could do! </p> <p> Then, one day on a field trip, her friends and her were walking in the forest with the head mistress of the orphanage and were suddenly charged by a bear, which was very out of the ordinary since bears at that time were still suppose to be asleep in hibernation, which meant it had woken too early and was very hungry and decided to have pony for breakfast. It had struck one of her friends with one of its claws and in a panic, before the bear could get its teeth around the young filly, she had teleported to her friend, a spell she had no knowledge of or had cast before and put up a barrier, A STRONG ONE. One with double the density of anything else, even more advanced unicorns can make to protect her friend and herself. After a few swipes, and a few rocks thrown at the bear by the head mistress out of fear for the young filly's, the bear had ran away.  </p> <p> After getting the young hurt filly to the hospital, the doctors had told star petal that thanks to her quick actions, her friend would not only live, but was going to be OK in a few days. The head mistress of the Orphanage had also heavily praised Star Petal, and revealed to her that according to her file, her parents were not only in the military, but "specialized" in defensive magic, and it was thanks to their barrier magic, that she was still alive today. Although, she at that time was fully aware of her parents demise, just not really how until just then. Then A Gleam in her eyes sparked and she smiled as she came to a sudden realization, which quickly turned from a smile and gleam to an extremely Stern, cold and the kind of look only somepony with the most absolute level of determination could possibility give, this actually surprised her care taker as she gave look of being a bit surprise, and then Star Petal made a vow to her Orphan mistress, her friends who were around her, the hospital staff, and most of all herself. <br /><br /> "huh, really?, Well then, thank you. I now know what I am going to do with my life. I too will become a defensive specialist, not just that but a protector, a guardian, a shield! I will not only master defnsive magic, but unlike my parents, and so many before them, I vow, I VOW THAT MY SHIELD, WILL NEVER FALTER, NEVER GIVE WAY, AND NEVER BREAK!!! I will become the unbreakable guardian and protector of all of those who do not have the means to protect themselves!" <br /><br /> It took six months for her to discover that she had a cutie mark. </p>
