Cutie Mark: A red quill with a tear coming out of it. This represents Stinging Nettles love of writing sad stories and poetry, as well as his own inner turmoil.

Personality: Quiet, sarcastic and snarky, Nettle generally doesn't like socializing unless he has some reason to trust the pony(s) he is interacting with. He is also very much so a pessimist, and also really depressed. The reasons for his depression are in the backstory.

Backstory: Stinging Nettle was born in Ponyville, and has lived there for most (if not all) of his life. At a young age he fell in love with a school-mate of his, but he was denied mutual affection. The pony of his dreams eventually moved away to Canterlot, leaving Nettle alone and longing.<br /><br />Nettle and his romantic interest kept in touch via letter for a few years until Nettle suddenly stopped getting replies. In the time since then, he has fallen into grieving, believing that his love interest is dead. He has begun writing a story to retell their story, but has yet to finish the project.
