• Sunpearl Rise

    Akari of Duskshire

    • Age: 25 (default age)

      Gender: Female

      Species: Unicorn

Appearance: Being a jewelry maker, she often wears her art, but at the very least, she wears the pearl sun clip in her mane. Her hooves are also very calloused.

Cutie Mark: Two flowers with pearls in the middle of them. They represent her skill as a jewelry maker.

Personality: Sunpearl Rise is a very adventurous, open-minded mare. She has finer tastes, but she's willing to explore new territory and dirty her hooves in the process for new ways to hone her craft.

Despite all of the opportunities her talent offers her, she's not particularly ambitious. She's happy just working as a baker and making jewelry on the side. Promises of fame don't easily tempt her.

And despite how demanding her grandmother could be, she still loves her and her entire family, which consist of her grandparents and her little sister, who isn't out of school yet.

Backstory: Sun and her little sister Sol were born to bakers in Yanhoover, but something happened and they came under the care of their grandparents. They were actually the first ones in their grades to earn their cutie marks when the girls volunteered to make prizes for a school festival game. But though Sun got her cutie mark in jewelry-making, her grandmother insisted in raising her as a baker, even though Sun's grandfather was okay with her learning how to make jewelry.

Against her grandmother's protests, her grandfather sent her to a jewelry-maker in the Crystal Empire in order for her to better her craft. Sun flourished under the jewelry-maker's mentoring, even though he was pretty strict and used some rather unconventional methods of teaching. He would teach her for two years before she returned home and they stayed in contact. He would even occasionally send her some crystal beads to use.

Sunpearl Rise still lives with her sister and grandparents, working at the bakery. She makes custom jewelry and sets up her own stand at festivals. Over the years, she learned new ways of making her own beads, through woodcrafting, the use of scrap metal and broken glass, and even pearls obtained by pearl diving with the help of her underwater-breathing spell. But she's happy where she is.
