Cutie Mark: While escaping Las Pegasus, he would often follow thunderstorms and wind patterns to get to the center of Equestria, where Canterlot is housed. During one of those excursions, he gets struck by a bolt of lightning, but rather than electrocuting him, it mixes with the magic inside of him and enhances his flying ability, making him faster and stronger. At this time, a red lightning bolt appeared on his flank, signifying that he essentially now had lightning in his blood. It had become a part of him.

Personality: Loud and sarcastic, Thunder Runner is overconfident and arrogant. However, once you are friends (he doesn't make friends easy) with him, he's kind, protective, but still overconfident.<br />Clashes with anyone who gets in his way, and just generally doesn't like other ponies.

Backstory: Abandoned on the streets at birth, Thunder Runner has learned to cope with the toughest of the tough in the back alleys of Las Pegasus. After around eight years of such survival from birth, he escapes the despisable city and finds a home in Cloudsdale, living it up in, yet again, another alleyway. When he turned 16 he began a job in the Cloudsdale Cloud Factory, and worked there for two years, scraping together enough to afford a small apartment in Canterlot. He never went to flight school, but is a flying ace, having been self-taught, challenging the abilities of Rainbow Dash and Lightning Dust themselves. For the past three years to current day he has worked around the Wonderbolts, though not been one himself, having various jobs from janitor to trainer to even at some point an academy guard. But now, having turned 21, he wants in on this famed group, and it is his life goal to join the Wonderbolts, just as Rainbow Dash is.
