Cutie Mark: a fist, symbolizing her love for hand-to-hand combat.<br /><br />it appeared when she first accepted a challenge, in her hometown, after always being too afraid to fight back.

Personality: respect is everything to her. meaning, if your not respecting what she does, and who she is, good luck being friends. she mainly distances herself from others, until she knows them better.<br /><br /> she will help out anyone in a jam, showing a kind side to her...even if her method's of 'helping' involves violence. <br /><br /> she's a firm believer in revenge, believing it to be the only way she can be 'even' with somepony, and she's really competitive, always wanting to spar with the strongest guy around. <br />she almost always wins.<br /><br /> she has a way of thinking on the fly, and doesn't care if somepony doesn't like her. but when her friends are threatened, she'll be FURIOUS.<br /><br />she can be rather jealous, often times getting urges to beat up anyone who has something that she's been trying to get, especially if the pony at hand (hoof?) doesnt deserve it. however, she can hide this feeling rather well, and bottle it up.<br /><br />but when the pony at hand is really asking for it...she wont hesitate to send said pony into a hospitable.

Backstory: she got the short end of the stick right off the bat. her mother had been living in a town that was solely earth ponies, after her traveling 'companion' ran out on her after learning she was pregnant. <br /><br />sadly...her mother died giving birth, and violet was put into the town's orphanage. <br /><br />but thats where the sadness ends. violet grew up in the town, which was rather rowdy. excepted, from a earth-pony-only town.<br /><br />and growing up in those conditions meant that if she were to get respect, physical strength was a must. so she pushed herself, training to stay on the same level as the entire town. and respect she got, proving herself again and again in the town, rising up to any challenge a fellow classmate might say. more often then not she'd beat out any of her age in whatever sport they suggested.<br /><br />despite never being adopted, violet led a rather happy life. she had friends, and even a father figure. she thought she would stay there forever...<br /><br />but then caliber wandered past.<br /><br />violet was 15 years old at the time, and as such couldnt leave the orphanage and even the town even if she so wanted. and caliber convinced her to leave, after she learned that simple raw strength wasnt enough to win every battle.<br /><br />caliber, in his first spar with her, easily won, having been far more trained in martial arts. this was what convinced violet to leave, and start her own adventure. of course, by then, most of the town almost enjoyed having her in their community. but they were understanding.<br /><br />she set off, on her 16th birthday, intending to learn martial arts, as to further improve her skill in fighting. <br /><br />she traveled all over equestria, seeking out new fighting styles, dojos, martial arts books, anything she can do in order to get stronger, as well as more skilled.<br /><br />and thats just what she did, as she is now on par with some of the greatest martial artists in the world.<br /><br />along her travels, she met caliber again, and for a long while, journeyed with him. eventually, however, she soon realized that her place was teaching martial arts to the next generation. so, she bought a place in the crystal empire, with some help from caliber. <br /><br />she's a sensei, there, and is currently teaching. but, she does take breaks from time to time, and sometimes travels, like she used to. when she DOES travel, she lets her hired martial artists to teach in her place.
