Cutie Mark: http://i59.tinypic.com/30sgd51.png
Personality: Virtus is a adventurous stallion who enjoys traveling through unchartered lands, and more importantly places filled with excitement and danger. The pegasus is well known for his valor, strength, loyalty, sometimes recklessness, and overall friendliness towards every pony. He is always trying to push pass his limitations, and if he needs to, set a handicap just to challenge himself. He is brave and courageous. There is no pony, creature, or being that can make this pegasus run off with his tail tucked between his legs. Okay, maybe with the exception of a few ponies. He’s somepony who would, even at the cost of his life, stand his ground and face the dangers head on. Virtus is very persistence, stubborn, and will not give up until the end.

Those who have met this guard will find that he is very friendly and has a cheerful personality. To see the pegasus down in the dumps is a rare sight to behold. He always looks for the brighter side of life and tends to stay away from negatively. However even with that said he doesn’t mind hanging out with ponies that is seemly harsh. Virtus believes, even if it’s less than one percent, there are good in ponies. That’s just who he is and his beliefs. It doesn’t take a lot to get the stallion to like somepony, show compassion, and consider them as a friend. After the first encounter he considers them at least acquaintances if not more. For those that sticks with Virtus they will also find out he is very loyal and will stick with them no matter what obstacle is in their path.

Normally a guard is supposed to be calm, quiet, and stoic. They’re supposed to act like nothing can faze them. Unfortunately when it comes to this pegasus, sometimes, it hard for him to follow protocols. Guards are suppose to stay level headed and calm during each given task to fulfill. However sometimes he can be a “little” whimsical, even while he’s on duty. He won’t hesitate to greet other guards whenever one passes him; normally he would give them a wave, smile, or even a friendly hug. The stallion is known to even play pranks from time to time. Lucky for him he’s good at what he does or otherwise he would have been fired a long time ago. It’s not like he can’t do his job properly. Virtus are able to be serious and calm when the time calls for it. Just don’t expect him to keep up the act for too long.
Backstory: Virtus Vermillion, age twenty-two, pegasus, and works for the Solar Guard, is a pony whose life is filled with mysteries. Ever since his birth there are no recollections of his father. He only remembers his mother who raised him to be who he is now, a protector of Equestria, and a guard for Princess Celestia. Of course he would not mind serving the princess of the night herself, but the Lunar Guards prove to do a better job considering they’re nocturnal. Even when he tries to recall even the slightest image of what of his father’s face, by the description given by his mother, he would only acquire blurry images; sometimes he would even get a headache if he forces himself. He’s tried, forcing himself to remember, when he got help of a few unicorns adept at memory magic. The end results were fruitless and only seem to cause him, and his helpers, harm during the process. It was as if something was scripted in his brain, his mind, which prevents anypony from accessing certain parts of his memory.

Instead of searching for the key to unlock his memories Virtus decided it was best to let it go. He believed that everything will reveal themselves in due time. The stallion didn’t even worry about how his father might be like considering all the wonderful things his mother said about him. Life weren’t always fair between his parents. They had their fair share of fights and arguments, but that’s just how life is. It has its ups and downs. Deep down inside Virtus could somehow feel like his father is always watching him, wherever he might be.

From an early age Virtus took an interest in knights and their chivalrous ways. His love for them probably developed because of all the stories about knights protecting their kingdom and loved ones his mother told him every night. At one point he had dreams of becoming a knight and he still does actually. This is also the reason why he wishes to one day be able to become a personal guard for the princess, almost like King Arthur and the knights of the round table. His mother always supported him when he choose to do something, so when he told her he wanted to served in the Royal Army, as a Solar Guard, she agreed and told him how he’s just like his father.

For many years the pegasus trained himself and honed his body until he came to age where he could enlist into the ranks. There are many rumors of how Virtus was actually born as a earth pony with wings. However he is a one hundred percent born pegasus. Why? Because his strength’s almost on par with that of a trained earth pony, and more. For many years it boggled the pegasus’s mind. At first he thought he was born as a freak of nature, that is, until his mother finally told him the possible cause. “Your…father, isn’t exactly a earth pony like I’ve told you. He’s…something much more than a pony.” Virtus remembered his mother’s exact words and of course he didn’t pry further and left things as it is. He was born unique and he eventually accepted it, even when he found out he could also use magic thanks to his left eye. He had his mother’s crimson colored eyes for his right eye, and his father’s golden colored ones for his left. Unfortunately the magic also weakened his ability to manipulate the weather drastically, a main trait of the pegasi.

Life as a guard was rough at the beginning, especially when he attended the military academy, but eventually he got the hand of things and became a recruit working inside Canterlot Castle, home to the princesses of the sun and the moon. Many times he had to do janitorial duties, help the chefs, peel potatoes, and even scrub the bathrooms with a toothbrush; this only happened when he gets in trouble with his superiors, which unfortunately, happens quite often. Virtus is quite the whimsical troublemaker pony to join the royal guards.

Eventually members from the R.I.A. (Royal Intelligence Agency) offered him a position within their ranks. He thought about declining at first, considering had he accepted he might be not be the Princess's guard anymore, or moved elsewhere. Fortunately the position they offered him enabled him to continue his work as one of Celestia's, more personal, guards or special forces. All he needed to do was answer when he is summoned for a mission, and once the mission is complete he is able to go back to his duties. Accepting the new position the R.I.A. granted him, Virtus became a special agent in the Anomalies Branch.
