Cutie Mark: A black raven with wings out completely in silhouette, surrounded by three large snowflakes. A spiritual representation of his talent of helping people with their emotional or logic based dilemmas.

Personality: Personality wise, Winter Raven tends to be methodical, quiet, will only yell on rare occasions, and always seems to be a touch on the sad side (Even if he can't say as to why...) As opposed to say Fluttershy, he isn't afraid of things. It isn't fear that makes him step back when things get loud, it is the chaotic, loud nature that bothers him; He is not a pony that likes to be rattled, over stimulated or flustered. He tends to not be shy, just that he become more timid the louder and more chaotic the world around him becomes, and just shies away when there is too much commotion; whether it would be a party gone awry, a huge screaming match or if a fight breaks out.<br />While he physically shies away from those situations, he would never outright just disappear or bail on a situation. He looks for the quiet corner, or to find enough distance from a fight or argument where it doesn't feel to be pressing in on his personal space bubble anymore. <br /> <br />He is a hard worker though his job isn’t his passion, it’s his job. His passion is in his work, and his work is helping others. He usually can tell when somepony has something the matter and he naturally feels very compelled to try to help them, even if that help ends up with him just having to sit there and listen or stand there and get yelled at.<br />Ponies find him very easy to talk to who with his calm, quiet, and gentle nature that naturally gives off an aura of safety and comfort.<br /><br />He still doesn't have a full understanding of his cutie mark; in terms of what it means, his special gift or ability is. As far as he knows he has always been there to try and help people, if they want to talk or just need somepony to sit there and listen. When he gives advice though it isn't without permission, he has been known to help a pony see the forest for the trees so to speak. It is rumored that he knows secrets that some ponies have told him in a strict confidence, though he won't even admit to knowing any secrets.<br />

Backstory: Winter comes from a family steeped in tradition, though as of yet he still doesn’t understand it all. When he was a young colt his grandmother use to tell him that he was special, that he would follow in her steps as a ‘spiritual healer’.<br /><br />In school he would make friends easily and found himself multiple times having people telling him things that surprised him because of how personal they were. People said he always knew what to say and eventually he became everyone’s confidant. The downside is that when people weren’t feeling bad they tended to not hang around him. As he grew older he found that he preferred quiet places and activities, and started to shy away from heated aggression such as screaming matches, or actual fights between ponies.<br /><br />One night his grandmother asked him to talk with her alone in front of the fire in her living room. There she finally outlined a few things for him.<br /><br />First, their family has always been able to help people that need it in ways a lot of other people couldn’t, they were doctors in a field people all knew existed but rarely admitted to. He is a doctor but not of the body or mind instead he is a healer of the heart. His mother was supposed to be the same way but the talents just never emerged in her.<br /><br />Second, as he gets older more things will make sense to him. The level of understanding he has not only of others but of himself and what actually went on in his life before this point will grow in leaps and bounds as he ages.<br /><br />Third, he is expected to carry on the family traditions which will mean that his mother gets to name his child when he has one. Just as his grandmother apparently named him after he was born. This is to allow the eldest to pass on the best name that their current understanding allows them to know fits when they gaze at the new foal.<br /><br />She also passed on something else, a secret that he has never spoken to anyone. Once it was said his cutie mark appeared and the blanket of subtle sadness cloaked him; a proverbial blanket that has never left him. Whatever it was that he was told that night as the final thing it has left him consistently appearing to look melancholy.<br />When his mark appeared she smiled to him, gave him a book, a hug goodnight and sent him off to bed. She did not make it to the morning…<br /><br />Finding the big city too big, too chaotic Winter Raven moved to Ponyville. Yes things can get crazy it is still a small town, with lots of open quiet spaces he can retreat to if things ever become too much.<br />
