• Zenru

    P-Jay

    • Age: 26

      Gender: Male

      Species: Pegasus

Appearance: A deep blue coat, with a lighter blue-and-red mane and tail. He has tired, dark eyes, commonly with a small amount of wrinkles underneath--yet, to an outside stranger, he'll appear as very approachable.

On duty, he'll be wearing a trademark set of armor--made of lightweight materials, with an almost white color, his family crest would be imprinted on the chestplate--upon further inspection, one will notice his armor was created to minimize wind resistance, rather then reduce physical trauma.

Cutie Mark: A pegasus wing design with a blade mixed in. Singling his heritage, as well as style of swordplay.

Personality: Zenru is, at his core, a pacifist. He dislikes resorting to his weapons, and will even turn the other cheek from attempted aggravation, much preferring to settle disputes through negotiation and understanding. However, when all other options have been exhausted, he will draw his blade(s), and neutralize the threat to the best of his ability, as seldom as he must.

Outside of dangerous situations, Zenru is shown to be a caring, understanding individual, and routinely takes moments out of his precious spare time, to talk and help others who might need it--and offer them small kindnesses, such as lunch, or help with a task.

He is known to be a patient individual, with no records of him losing his temper to date since he's become a Captain--although, there have been instances where his willingness to wait, near the beginning of his career, has resulted in unfavorable outcomes, giving him insight as to when not to give them a chance and when to.

He strives towards learning how to better himself in his career, and when he's not lending a hoof to a passerby, or on the job, he can commonly be found in the library, reading on previous Captains' exploits.

He doesn't believe in fate, nor destiny, nor any godlike beings--opting to believe that one's life is up to the being in question to live how he wants. This causes him to have an incredible resolve in the face of threatening odds, always believing that there's a chance, no matter how small, to resolve a problem.

Backstory: Zenru was born in Cloudsdale, as many pegasi are, to one of the only families in Equestria that date all the way back to the ancient Tribes. The Swiftwings, back then, were no more special then the rest, however, they possessed considerable attention to threats, and were commonly the first to arrive to battle. They believed in speed, that if you're fast enough, a problem might be nipped before it blossomed into a threat. They always strived towards higher levels of speed, and the legend of the Rainboom came from one of Zenru's own ancestors.

Over generations, and generations, of only improving on speed, and skill with bladed weapons, the Swiftwings began to attain a genetic trait, that ensured the next of the family's bloodline would be slightly faster then the last. Zenru, being the latest descendant, has received this trait far better then any of his ancestors. At a young age, he was far quicker, and had far better reflexes then any of his classmates might've had, improving on those skills as much as he could--and excelled in school, giving him a chance to sign up for the Royal Guard. Note that he was a pacifist, even at such an early age, but did indeed wish to prevent harm--and the Royal Guard was the best way to ensure it.

He took the chance, much to the pride of his parents, as so many of his ancestors did before him. It was no time at all, before refining his speed earned him a place near the top of the class. But, as one would expect, it's a big world out there--and he would find competition to be the best. He was unmatched with his chosen weapon--a thin, straight saber--and after long hours of training, triumphed as the star recruit.

Eventually, he graduated from the training facility, and signed up to be a Captain of a city--which just happened to be Bangcolt. With the help of his parents, and famous heritage, he managed to buy a house there--living inside the dangerous town. He's a respected Captain amongst his peers, with an efficient method of taming the city, and work put in to ensure that the violent town was quelled. He was twenty-three, at the time.

Two years later, he inherited the family name, and all the business that came with it. While it was a great honor to be the head of the Swiftwings, he found himself bogged down with various paperwork, which he dutifully took care of, every night after he was done with his Captain duties of the day. After years of managing both his career and family issues, he has dropped from his once-great efficiency, although he still keeps crime at an almost all-time low. The reason being he doesn't attain much sleep, between all the tasks he might have.

He lives in Bangcolt, although, in times of need his skills will require him to relocate and act as a temporary Captain of a new area.
