If you could revive the Ponyland saga what would you change to improve it?

This is assuming that either

 

A - It runs alongside FiM, not replacing it

B - It runs after FiM finally has it's well earned retirement after many years

 

Here's some of the things I would do

 

- Use a similar style to the original, but add little improvements (such as HD, giving different ponies differing hairstyles/facial structures/eye shapes/etc).

 

- I would probably include Megan and her siblings again, since I would be doing this mostly for nostalgic fans of g1, and also for little kids. But possibly make Megan and Danny teenagers, while Molly is about the same age Megan was.

 

- Have slight links to Equestria, but not directly linked (maybe a sister dimension?)

 

- Use the background ponies concept from FiM, but have background ponies be more than mere background and have a bit of camera time themselves, and sometimes even be involved in the plot (I loved what they did with Derpy).

 

- By now, the Ponyland ponies should know how to take care of themselves. So less Megan intervention needed.

 

- Use g1 Spike (this would afterall, be aimed at g1 fans and little kids).

 

- Have Discord make at least one appearance (he is Discord, screw logic).

 

- Have a more realistic plot. Less slice of life, more saving Ponyland.

 

- If using g1 Pinkie Pie, have her sing better (but still badly, just not ear splittingly bad, g1 wouldn't be g1 without Pinkie singing badly).

 

- Have locations that aren't named after real life locations. We watch MLP to escape from our world.

 

- On the series finale, some powerful evil who has been affecting both Ponyland and Equestria appears, and the Equestrian ponies appear and unite with the Ponyland ponies to defeat this evil.
