He looked to his side to see a young brown colt with a propeller hat, using a handheld device.

 

Riley blinked. "How are you doing that?!"

 

The colt gave Riley a weird look, then went back to his game.

 

"Button, sweetie, don't be rude," said the cream and brown mare next to him, supposedly his mother.

"But.. I thought they didn't have electronics here! How do they even manufacture silicon platters to make the CPUs???" Soprano asked, hoping that he could use his HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript and MySQL here in Equestria. Web development might come in handy one day, he thought. "Could I use my programming knowledge here?"

Moments later, the mare from earlier arrived with the bread. Two slices for each of them. "That'll be four Bits, please," she said.

 

Riley and Anala each gave two Bits to the mare.

 

After the mare left, Anala quietly told her sudden idea to the group. "We can pose as a family. Riley and I can act as the parents of you two boys."

"Maybe, but why do we have to do that?" Soprano asked. Due to Soprano studying Japanese and PHP all the time before they left, he was still thinking in PHP code and Japanese! His head was filled with this stuff:

All three of them raised eyebrows when Soprano said something about "thinking in PHP code".

 

"You aren't making any sense..." said Reece.

"What, you don't know PHP? The most-used server-side scripting language used on the internet? Whatever, we need to be careful not to show are 'human' traits." Soprano said. "They wouldn't throw us into a dungeon, but the result still wouldn't be good" Soprano added.

"Yes, yes, of course we know what PHP is," said Anala.

 

'Well, Riley and I do, anyway. Not so sure about his brother.'

 

"It's just the 'thinking in PHP' part that weirded us out."

 

Before either of the two brothers could get a word in, the train came to a halt, and the voice of the conductor told everyone to get off, and for the new passengers to board.

As Soprano slowly woke up, he was hoping his whole trip to the human world was a dream. It was not. "Shit, we are still here." Soprano said, waking everyone up. "We got to get some money or something guys. My bits are useless, and so is my royal guard armour. We can always head back, you know."

"Perhaps we should go and whaaat the heck am I looking at?!?!" Riley's sentence had abruptly changed when he noticed a humongous crystal castle in the town.

As he was waking up, Riley heard everything that Soprano said. He looked in his wallet to discover that instead of thirty two Bits, it now held pieces of paper. One with the text 'Twenty Dollars', two with the text 'Five Dollars', and one with the text 'One Dollar'.

 

"Where'd all my cash go? And what are these slips of paper?"

"Yeah, and it's.... glowing!" Soprano stated, very confused. "What the heck is that thing?" Soprano added.

"I think it's Earth's equivalent to bits" Soprano said. "It's very weird. For one, it's not made of gold... OR silver! I don't like it" Soprano added. He hated this money so much, he accidentally tore a $1 note.

Before Anala could get a word in, she heard a cheerful voice. "Ah, Anala! Long time no see!"

 

She looked to the side to see the source of the voice: a cream-coloured stallion with a blue and red mane.

 

"Er... who are you exactly? And how do you know my name?" asked Anala, becoming creeped out.

 

"What? You don't remember me? It's me, Number Cruncher! We had that big adventure together! Or a little adventure, depending on how you look at it."

 

He looked at Riley. "I presume that this is that Riley fellow you told us about?"

 

Neither Riley, Anala, or Reece had any idea what was going on.

 

"And who are these fellows? It makes sense that an interesting mare such as yourself would have lots of acquaintances."

 

"I'm not a mare, I'm a girl!" snapped Anala without thinking.

 

Before the conversation could go on further, Riley intervened by saying, "Oh, hey, look at the time! We have to go and do that... thing!" He grabbed Anala and took her behind some houses.

"I hope it works the same way," said Riley.

"How the hell did he know you? This is the first time we have been here! (and hopefully the last)." Soprano was very scared at how that pony knew about Riley and Anala.

"I don't know, I don't know!" said Anala in a fluster. "I don't know about you guys, but I have a lot of questions about this strange new world, and I want some answers." She headed towards the castle.

Riley's new belly rumbled. "Anyone else hungry?" He saw a cart that had a sign reading 'Hot Dogs: $2' attached.

 

"Oh, boy!" he said happily. Without a second thought, he went to purchase hotdogs for each of them.

Anala knocked on the colossal doors of the castle, and they opened for her. She shrugged and entered. There were thousands of books on the shelves. "Maybe those books can help us?"

"As for the 'thousands of books' problem, they're probably divided into sections," said Anala. She went to search for books that would help them in their current situation.

Reece had taken a random book from a shelf, not paying attention to what it was, and he opened it up, and started flipping pages. "Not difficult, it seems," he told the group.

 

"Well, that takes care of that," said Anala. "Next question: where are we going to sleep?"

"Maybe we can sleep in an abandoned house. I've done it before; you just need to be careful of druggies." Soprano said, amazed that his computer still worked as usual. "Well, how can we type on this thing? The keys are tiny!" Soprano added, still trying to type.

Anala looked at Soprano's computer. "Stupid hooves," she muttered. She brainstormed for a moment. "Maybe we could hold a thinner object, such as a pencil, and use it to type?"

Reece stared at his hooves in bemusement for a few moments, having discovered a quirk of his new body. "Guys... I think we can control the density of our hooves to help us pick stuff up." He demonstrated by picking up a conveniently-placed pencil.

"Seriously guys, i'm getting a WiFi connection, and.... holy crap, how are you holding that pencil?" Soprano said, being distracted as the ADHD patient he is. "How are you doing that?" Soprano added. He was curious about the mysterious WiFi signal, and the fact that Reece can pick up a pencil.

Meanwhile, Riley was looking for an area that the group could sleep in that night. He opened various doors, trying to pick a room.
