Agents of Interpon - Game Recruitment

Greetings one and all - My name is Fourze-Stallion, a fan of MLP and Tokusatsu, and this is a little project that I hope to get off the ground

 

Agents of Interpon!

 

In the game you'd play as one of two characters (and possibly a few unlockable characters) - Agent Meteor and Agent Phi - As they go across a futuristic Equestria to solve crime, save many ponies, and kick tons of flank! On the tail of an organization called Charming Raven that's threatening Equestria.

The gameplay would be a 2D side scrolling beat'em up with items and backgrounds that can either be lifted up and thrown, or destroyed. If I had to describe the gameplay style, think of it like Double Dragons/Final Fight games.

 

At this point in time, I'm essentially the main director and head artist on this project, but I need help making this game a reality.

Have you got any demo lines for me to do? Or is it just grunts, groans and battle cries?

 

Also, as a gaming / fighting fan myself, I'm really intrigued. Would it be possible to describe what gameplay it will be like, such as controls, story paths, power-ups, special moves and weapons? Or am I asking too much?

Also, as a gaming / fighting fan myself, I'm really intrigued. Would it be possible to describe what gameplay it will be like, such as controls, story paths, power-ups, special moves and weapons? Or am I asking too much?

 

 

I do have a few lines, along with a storyline going on, but when we get a more definite script going, we'll be posting lines for auditions. And yes, there will be groans and grunts and stuff, but we'll also have dialogue done during the stages (possibly commenting on videogame tropes and such).

 

As for the game play - I'm hoping for a co-op style - Kinda like Double Dragons, Battle Toads or the classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade style - Where you can beat up foes (need to beat most of them before you can advance) pick up items/weapons and use them, and other various interactions with the background.

 

And there will be special moves tailored to the individual playable characters, and we're even taking a page out of Megaman's book and giving special upgrades after you beat a certain boss.

You won't have to worry about live auditions. When we ask for VAs, we'll ask for a clear recorded with either links to youtube or if that's not feasible, we'll ask for direct audio files.

I figured now would be a good time as any to talk about some of our characters that I've shown here (along with adding pictures down below) as to who you can play and who we'll be seeing on the battle field.

 

PLAYABLE CHARACTERS

 

Agent Phi – A pegasus mare who armed with the Phi Driver which gives her armor and weaponry that was upgraded by Interpon. She’s really sarcastic but has a good heart deep down, and more often than not her tongue will get her into trouble. When she was young, Phi was the subject of a number of experiments that had some… dubious effects on her. Before she was experimented on or joined Interpon, she was a wandering mechanic, and has a large amount of experience with machines.

 

Agent Meteor – A unicorn stallion who is in possession of the Meteor Driver which gives him armor and empowers his attacks. Before he was an agent of Interpon, he was a stallion who studied at a school of Jeet Kune Do – the School of the Star-Mind Large-Ring Fist. After an incident where he had to infiltrate another school to save one of his friends where he learned about true friendship and loyalty. Five years after those events, he became an agent of Interpon in order to make sure that Equestria would remain safe.

 

IMPORTANT NPCs

 

Trefles – A large armored minotaur from the city of Pranch, originally a guy who once owned a vineyard that his family had for many, many years – At least until his land was taken away by the Equestrian government due to a loophole in contracts. And while his land was taken away, it was what the land was used for – A mini-mall. When he was on the street, he was found by a stallion by the name of Paradiso, who offered to help him get his land back. When he gets his armor, he goes to Prance to reclaim his land. In his fight, he has the ability to create illusions and uses his staff to attack.

 

 

Oceanus – A young sea-pony mare from Atlantis, however, she was cast out from her home when she was younger. The reason why she was cast out was because she was friends with one of the royal family, but one day when they were playing, there was an accident with a mess of underwater currents and her friend was greatly hurt. When she was on the edge of despair, a stallion by the name of Paradiso offered a hoof to her and gave her a new home. When she gets the Poseidon Driver, she returns to the ocean to try to talk to the royal family on equal ground. In her fight, she has the ability over water, creating whirlpools and has the ability to summon multiple Swordfish spears to throw.

 

 

Rocin Nate – A unicorn who was a former Royal Guard, he gave up his position after an incident where he lost his powers to a large centaur and decided to go out into the world to hone his skills – He only seeks to improve himself and not feel as weak as he did at the hands of the centaur. And with the Knight Driver that he acquired thanks to the help of a stallion named Paradiso, he’s capable of doing just that. He returns to Canterlot and challenges all of the royal guards to duels to see who is the mightiest. In his fight, he possesses a sword and a large lance that he uses to dash towards his foes, and his has the ability of flight thanks to the cape attached to the armor, and use the cape in his attacks.

 

 

Ray Dog - A rather refined Diamond Dog who’s just bored with how the world works – Being run by hoofed creatures. He was just a wanderer around the world seeing other cultures until a stallion named Paradiso confronted him with a chance to rid him of his boredom. When Ray got the BlizzarDriver… He was still bored most of the time. But when he got to a few pony settlements in the west, and learned what he could do with the BlizzarDriver, it relieved some of his boredom. With the BlizzarDriver, Ray can create blizzards and icicles that he uses for his attacks and such.

Indeed! We're almost done with the basis of the demo and once we have it up we'll probably put a video and a post up with this. In addition, we'll be looking to the forum for some other awesome add-ons.
