Dark Mist's Past

Princess Celestia had all the attention that Luna never got, when Celestia picks out a few students to go the the school, Luna wants to help, but is told its not needed, they will be transported there by magic. But that will not be until tomorrow, this leaves Luna with an opportunity to prove herself worthy. There were 5 students who she could choose, but one of them looked to be left out by the others. This filly's name is Dark Mist, an outcast due to her colors.

 

Luna decides to take her to training in a remote area while Celestia was away on a mission. She does this everyday until Dark Mist learns to control the magic energies of Fire, Water, and Earth. These spells will prove to be for her survival if she is to come into any danger. Next Luna teaches her spells like levitation and speed reading.

 

But that's all they time for as Celestia finds them, Luna is scolded for her actions and Dark Mist is taken away. This infuriated Luna to the point of an argument breaks out between the two. Ending in Luna getting her way, but only on one condition, never teach dark magic to Dark Mist. Dark magic is forbidden to all, and Luna knows it. happy to have a student back in her hooves, Luna continues training her until she graduates.

 

At age 10, Dark Mist wants more power, but LUna says that power will only lead to violence, and that Dark Mist has learned all there is to learn. Dark Mist heard what celestia had said the day before about Dark Magic, so while they two princesses are busy she takes the opportunity to sneak past the guards and into the archives. Finding the book of forbidden spells, Dark Mist reads about dark magic and how to cast it. She picks it up quickly like the other spells.

 

Unfortunate for her the servant who comes to dust off the archives room finds her and reports her trespassing. Celestia and lUna are not happy to learn about this and Luna gets the first scolding, after that Dark Mist gets the same. Dark Mist is filled with hatred towards Celestia, but still feels love towards Luna. Its when she casts dark magic at celestia that luna defends her sister.

 

Now an enemy, both are in her way. For a mare this young, she could deflect a few spells easily. But when the princesses work together, Dark Mist isn't able to keep up and is defeated. Her punishment? to be banished and walk the dream realm where she won't harm anypony again.

That is Dark Mist's past that i have come up with so far, but the future is still to be seen.
