Pinkie Pie cosplay ideas?

Okay, do a while back I made a bet with my friend. That if he came to my state (he's in canada) dressed as Cheese Sandwich, I'd cosplay Pinkie Pie. I wasn't really serious at the time. But now he's saying he's saving up money to come see me. So...... ya. Does anypony have some simple cosplay ideas for pinkie that won't cost a ridiculous ammount? I've looked for costumes online, but all of them are either really corny or are just a copy of the equestria girls outfit.

I'm into cosplaying a whole lot myself! My girlfriend will cosplay Pinkie Pie, however I yet have no idea how she'll do it.

But some tips from me to make things easy!

First off with the wig, either try to find a magenta colored long wig, search on ebay or hellocosplay. Try to find a somewhat curly wig, then when you'll get it, you could iron curl it yourself on low heat or use hair curlers and a whole lot of hairspray (would recommend spraying it with warm water in the meantime of the curling process before you hairspray it) With this method you'll end up with perfect pretty curls according to Pinkie Pie's mane! When those curls are done I'd recommend you to set it up in a pin or try to curl it around like a pony tail to make it appear more poofy.

But I figured you're out to get most information on what clothes to wear, right? 
As for Pinkie Pie I'd choose a poofy pink dress and then sew or paint on her balloons cutie mark! Along with pink leggins, then you'd be good to go! Another tip would be to follow the Equestria girl design. I wish you all the luck on this cosplay!

Wear clothes with ruffles, and colour coordinate with Pinkie. With pink being the more dominate colour, with some blue and yellow thrown in.
