Oddball 132 May 17, 2015 Share May 17, 2015 (edited) Now this one has been bugging for an hour or so but how come it's so easy to strike up a conversation about a single word? I mean sure you have words like politics or news, but what about words like reality? Let's see here the definition states, "the world or the state of things as they actually exist, as opposed to an idealistic or notional idea of them." or "the state or quality of having existence or substance." Use Google and you find those. Also the origin is of the Latin word realis which means "Relating to things." Which honestly make sense! So with all that being said let's go to stuff like... well anime( I come in peace)! Almost every anime I hear says it at least once! It's just general term for awareness of living in the actual life. But what I want to get to is the perspectives they have on the reality. Some say it's cruel! Other's say it's wonderous! But is it anything? Or is it just our perspectives? If so why say reality? Reality is just the awareness of the actual life! But what's to leave insanity out of the picture? You're alive but you see things that don't exist? Or is it just in your reality. Am I even making sense anymore? Probably not the point is I just made a discussion about a word... Whether what I just stated makes no sense at all which it probably won't, or maybe I have given you some insight. The fact remains one word became a paragraph... Either way I hope this is not a violation of the rules... Edited May 17, 2015 by Oddball
I used to be a stranger 7,993 May 17, 2015 Share May 17, 2015 Epistemology is the philosophical study of knowledge or how you can know things. When one brings up debates about subjects like verification, justification, faith, reason and so on, epistemology is often mistake with Ontology, which is the study of how we know that things exist and the substance of something being in reality. The confusion can be aptly summarized in the old proverb "the Map is not the Territory"; knowledge of a thing does not always necessarily connotate the existence of a thing. Reality sure is interesting! Other words people like to talk about: "Rainbow Dash", "Batman", "Robot", "Next Week", "Tacos", "Showers", "Oatmeal"

Knight Hadron 372 May 18, 2015 Share May 18, 2015 Sure, I do. Showers: Large amounts of rain dumping from the sky. Usage: "Wow, there is some large showers outside." Oatmeal: Boiled oats. Usage: "I. Want. Oatmeal. Now. Oatmeal is YUMMY!" I bet everyone has used those words at least once.... However, I do not know of anyone who has started a converstation talking about paperclips.... Knight Hadron 372 May 18, 2015 Share May 18, 2015 I love talking about pretty much anything. Including nuclear physics? Does the Rainboom induce nuclear transformations of sweat into rainbow?
Knight Hadron 372 May 18, 2015 Share May 18, 2015 Your attitude there equals your profile pic. Since you seem to know it in detail, explain more of it, please.
