I love how this is drawn!

 

The shading and lighting really stand out and gives this a 3D-almost effect. The lighting and shading of places also bring out the texture with all the little unique details. I love how the texture looks!

The colors are also quite nice!

And the light in the room looks like a spotlight. Nice touch.

First of all, I can't believe she tweeted you about the picture. X3

And second, you're quite right it looks like you quite improved! And there's quite big differences like day and night within both of them. Though that older one doesn't look too bad. I like the shading and lighting in it. X3.

considering that old picture took almost TWICE as long to make as this current pic did (almost four hours in comparison to just under 2) I say it looks like sh*t lol. The thing is I was struggling with a glitchy lagged out laptop that was on its last leg, trying to draw with a half functioning touch pad all the while. 

 

Now that I have a good laptop, a drawing tablet connected to it, and a hell of a lot of practice (I've made just under a hundred completed pieces in about 6ish weeks) along with some sweet software and I've managed to up my game quite a bit :3 

 

I tell you its been nuts, ever since I've opened my deviant account I've recieved messages from everyone from Doctor wolf to Michelle Creber, the voice of Applebloom, about how much they love my art. It makes me giddy just thinking about it.

The one that got the most attention though was when Nowacking Tweeted about my pic of her Oc. That one has the most favorites out of all my pics to date.
