Wind Chaser 4,768 June 10, 2015 Share June 10, 2015 I really like your use of language. This backstory does feel as if it is filling in the giant question mark on Starlight Glimmer's backstory through vividly-recounted experiences. The realism of it as a political piece is very striking, and it is only appropriate you used Common Sense as an inspiration considering all the scholarly influences the episode itself actually had. It's also a nice dose of irony that one of the most influential documents in the founding of America could serve as the inspiration for something that represents the opposite of many American values, and the citation of Jean-Paul Sartre (the pun in the name is fitting) really shows how inspired this piece is. I like the capitalization on words that refer to the ponies themselves. This really is something that catches Starlight Glimmer's possible state of mind before "The Cutie Map", especially with intricate details and political realism such as characterizing the Mage Meadowbrook as a figure of her ideology. The surprisingly deep political and social commentary undertones are why the episode itself is so well-regarded, and I like how you brought that front and center to prove just how much a pony show can be surprisingly intellectual. It's one of the reasons why I enjoy the episode so much, and this work shows that you do as well. So, yeah, I liked it. I liked it a lot.
