FireSpitter 3 November 28, 2015 Share November 28, 2015 (edited) I made a metalcover of Evening Star's "Land of Equestria" . Though I'm not the best singer, I still decided to give it a chance . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcQdjoW5N1U Edited November 28, 2015 by FireSpitter
Courageous Thunder Dash 7,825 November 29, 2015 Share November 29, 2015 You need to up your vocals. I'm straining a bit to try to hear them. Either that or turn down your mix. Instrumental-wise, that lead guitar at the intro could use a drop of chorus and natural vibrato. It sounds a little dry. Better yet, some harmonization would work there too. Technique-wise on your vocals, you gotta make sure you hit the note exactly. Don't hit a wrong note and try to slide quickly into the correct note. When you're trying to hit those higher notes, you're flat. If you want to hit those higher notes, don't constrict your lungs when trying to hit those notes. You're straining your voice and at the same time, when straining your voice, it could crack at any second. It's hard to recover from a voice crack. I've been there myself and it sure wasn't pretty. Open up your chest and relax. Project your voice outward so that way, you can hit those upper notes clearly and perfectly. All in all, it's a decent cover, but perhaps the biggest thing that's throwing it off is your vocals and some of that dry distorted lead guitar.
