Need help with new OC

I know the concept of a DJ pony is very overdone, No offense to anyone with a DJ OC

 

Anyway, I made one for a role play I'm joining. Her name is Afterglow and I have made a headshot drawing of her, No full body image though.

 

I don't have much except for name (Afterglow) and that she is a DJ and Earth pony... Not much to go on right? I'm just all out of ideas when it comes to writing a DJ OC, So i'm turning to you fine people for help

 

So, Anyone got any ideas? ^^ (Critique wanted on the design as well!)

Off of what you have given me I have a few notes.

1. maybe shorten the hair in front a tad.

2.what is her cutiemark or do you not have one yet

3. I love the shading with the pallet you have chosen.

Off of the limited information I have I do have a few things to say.

1. I love the shading mixed with the pallet you have chosen for her

2. the hair in the front of her face seems a tad too long

3. If you need assistance in filling out the information on her backstory PM me.

First off, I'm happy wit the hair and I probably won't change it. And I did write that the symbol to her right on the image is her cutie mark

 

Thank you, I like her pallet as well, sat up till 5 AM drawing just that headshot xD (Took 4.5 hours)

Thanks I attempt to make something that people will enjoy reading as much as I enjoyed writing it.

interesting idea. the only time I have ever hear of a pirate pony was in a review of one of the comics. I like your style of writing and together I think we can make one h*yay* of a backstory for Afterglow.

Well, if you look at the origianl picture I posted and the one above you can probably see alot of change, I only have to finish the mane now then the whole drawing is finished.
