If Hasbro approached you and tasked you to create a Mlp variant

Not a spinoff with characters familiar to pony, but still tied to the MLP line (see variants Fairy Tales, My Little Kitty, My Little Puppy, etc), and insisted that it was set in the unexplored regions of space, far above whatever planet the ponies and other famiiar races of MLP live on. You couldn't have ponies in it. How would you create this MLP variant branch space world and characters to meet Hasbro's demands?

 

In my case, to start, I'd try to do a sort of MLP origin series without it being little ponies, but paying homage to it, if possible. I'd incorporate the Nyx from MLP but alter them a bit. They would instead be called the Nyxus (Nyx/Nexus),existing amongst the stars rather than being confined to the moon; their original one in the Horsehead Nebula (reference to "It's about time"), their rivalry with creationist sentient stars/ magic granters (who I'll call the Plasmarts). I'd explain the origins and intent of/for the Twinkle Wish Maker (Twinkle Wishing Star from G3), explain the more sentient family of Mlp's Ursa's, through the "Twinkle Teddies", and why they were tasked with banishing the Ursa's to an uninabited (at the time) planet, in suspended hibernation, with some magical girl throw-ins that wouldn't be the focus of the series (Magicical Girl Milky Way would be a Plasmart yet to develop her powers, cosplays a magical girl hero who wants to bring harmony to the galaxy, but shows up after conflict has already been resolved) and so much more. And Space whales, because omg so pretty!
