"I'll take that as a no..." Riley drew the tattered curtains and settled down on the bed. before she went to sleep she glared at Redwood, "what are you looking at?!" she said not trusting the mare before her. "we can talk more on the road in the morning... until then not a word..."

It was clear that Redwood's attempts at giving Riley some advice had gone unappreciated, so for now there wasn't much more to do than go to bed. Before she did, she took all the dog tags she had set on Riley's bed and put them back in her coat. Redwood didn't know why she was so hostile now.

It was clear that Redwood's attempts at giving Riley some advice had gone unappreciated, so for now there wasn't much more to do than go to bed. Before she did, she took all the dog tags she had set on Riley's bed and put them back in her coat. Redwood didn't know why she was so hostile now.

By the next morning Riley had forgotten almost everything from the night before she awoke, looked around and walked over to the window, (another gloomy, fog ridden deathly day in the wetlands...) she thought as she looked out over the highway below her there were lights in the distance lights of what appeared to be another bigger town that was their next port of call

Once again, Redwood was surprised that Riley was up before she was.

 

"We gonna get movin'?" she asked.

 

In all honesty, Redwood didn't know what their next move was. The only reason they had come out here was to get Riley a new gun and to track down the debt collectors.

Once again, Redwood was surprised that Riley was up before she was.

 

"We gonna get movin'?" she asked.

 

In all honesty, Redwood didn't know what their next move was. The only reason they had come out here was to get Riley a new gun and to track down the debt collectors.

"Yeah, continue down the highway until we reach the next town, the road is more travelled along here so if we get ambushed expect backup to arrive as soon as possible." Riley began to put on her jumpsuit but struggled with the zip, "hey can you just do my suit up? I can't zip it"

"Sure," said Redwood as she zipped her jumpsuit. "So, ah'm not entirely sure what our next move is beyond just gettin' to th' next town. Are we still tryin' to find y'all a better gun like y'all wanted, or are we still goin' after them debt collectors? Or are we just wanderin'?"

"Sure," said Redwood as she zipped her jumpsuit. "So, ah'm not entirely sure what our next move is beyond just gettin' to th' next town. Are we still tryin' to find y'all a better gun like y'all wanted, or are we still goin' after them debt collectors? Or are we just wanderin'?"

"I thought I'd try pick up some jo- where's my gun?" Riley felt the holster where her revolver should be and looked under the bed where she had put her Rifle. she ran downstairs and there was Johnnie polishing Riley's Rifle and Revolver, he had his attention focused purely on the guns it would be an easy kill, or they could try and take the guns back

"Hey, buddy," said Redwood. "Those belong to Riley."

 

Redwood was holding her gun over her shoulder so it wasn't pointed directly at Jonny, but she would still be able to draw it quickly if need be. She didn't know enough about Jonny to know how much of a threat he was, but they seemed to know Riley around here.

Redwood tossed a bag of caps onto the table and said, "Here. Take it before ah decide to take Riley's property back myself."

 

She didn't want to get violent in the middle of a settlement like this, but she also wasn't about to let Riley walk out of here unarmed.

Redwood tossed a bag of caps onto the table and said, "Here. Take it before ah decide to take Riley's property back myself."

 

She didn't want to get violent in the middle of a settlement like this, but she also wasn't about to let Riley walk out of here unarmed.

"hmm... it's tempting... indeed very tempting..." Johnnie said "well I suppose we could do a little trade..." he handed the guns over reluctantly and grabbed the bag of caps. "but the ammo will cost extra you hear me? things in this world ain't cheep so unless you want to try your luck with an empty gun throw in five hundred more caps..."

Redwood took Jonny's arm and bent it in a very painful way which wouldn't allow him to move it.

 

"Listen, yer gonna sell me that ammo fer fifty caps," stated Redwood, as if it were a fact.

 

She wasn't about to pay a ludicrous amount for something that was stolen from Riley anyways.

"oh you did not just do that..." Johnnie pulled out a combat rifle in one hoof and took several shots at Redwood "here's the plan you pay me full price for the ammo or else her head repaint's my walls..." He said aiming the rifle at Riley with surprisingly good accuracy

"Ah wouldn't suggest hurtin' Riley," she threatened.

 

While Redwood was ready to kill Jonny, she hoped she wouldn't have to, as it would be a bit of a foolish move.

Riley hit him in the face and began to kick him over and over in his... private parts until they bled "You ever touch me in my sleep again and I will end you..." she said

More ponies, caravans, traders, wastelanders and corpses a lot of corpses. Riley stepped over the body of a raider and continued towards the lights focused on her objective. a serious battle had taken place here. "wait... look..." Riley knelt down near a corpse, a large bullet hole ran through his skull, "it's the Militia they were here recently..."

Redwood could easily tell that the battle was indeed recent, as the bodies were freshly killed and still had most of their possessions.

 

"Th' Militia did this?" she said. "That could mean we ain't too far behind them."

 

It seemed like an encounter with the Militia was inevitable, and it looked like it was going to happen soon.

"Th' Militia did this?" she said. "That could mean we ain't too far behind them."

 

It seemed like an encounter with the Militia was inevitable, and it looked like it was going to happen soon.

"which means." Riley was interrupted by screaming in the distance. "GREAT SCOTT! they've reached town already! we have to get there as soon as possible, we can help them out... can't we?" Riley said loading her .44 and waiting for Redwood's decision clearly worrying.

"Hold on, this ain't our fight. If the Militia is as dangerous as y'all say it is, we can't go toe to toe if we're outnumbered like this. It's suicide to fight 'em like this."

 

Redwood wasn't about to throw her life away for this, and she wasn't going to let Riley get tangled up in it either.

"No more running!" she yelled to each passing pony. "Today is the day we fight, today is the day we end the reign of terror created by the Militia!"

Redwood followed, if only to make sure that Riley didn't die. Although, she had to admit that Riley was actually following the advice that she had given her last night. Maybe Redwood's words weren't all for naught. Maybe Riley had taken what she had said to heart.
