Redwood took the gun and looked it over for a moment. "Hardened receiver, that's good fer a little extra kick... a reflex sight is almost always a good choice... ah can respect anypony who uses a long barrel." after she was done, she handed the gun back. "This is some pretty solid work."

"thank you but it could never compare to anything even half as good as that shotgun of yours..." Fire said "heck it's beaten by Riley's .44 in terms of power but it does look really really cool doesn't it?" he said extremely  proud of his handiwork on his new 10mm pisto

"Well, ammo fer a .44 can be a real bitch to find, so ah wouldn't blame somepony if they went with somethin' a little smaller. A 10mm is fairly lightweight, ammo's easy enough to get, and if it's modded right like how y'all did it, it can have a decent punch. It's a respectable choice in weapons."

"I suppose... It's no shotgun though," an Idea popped into Fire's head, "Riley can I borrow your-" he said before Riley interrupted with a short and simple "no" meaning Fire would either have to walk to his idea or not go at all if the synthetic mare wouldn't allow him to drive

"What do y'all wanna borrow?" asked Redwood, a bit intrigued by what Fire wanted to do.

Gadget thought that Fire's introduction could have gone a little better, but he was able to talk guns with Redwood, so that probably earned him some points. Still, it would have helped if he was a little less clumsy.

"her truck... but it's not for the photos I swear!" Fire said trying to explain to the mares that he wasn't after the pictures of Riley and instead just wanted the truck, "c'mon Riley please? I need the truck for my idea!" Fire seemed pretty desperate but Riley wouldn't give him the keys

"I got a truck, but it's kinda at the ship," said Gadget.

"Hold on, what's this idea that y'all need Riley's truck for?" said Redwood. Considering how he taken those photos and acted sort of clumsy, she wasn't one hundred percent sure that Fire's idea would be a good one.

"To find another gun... I can't just live off a 10mm pistol for my entire life can I?" Fire said cocking his head "Please Riley I'll do anything!"

"Anything?" Riley said with a devilish grin on her face

"not quite anything but something that I could do that wouldn't get me in trouble with Gadget"

"If th' only thing y'all want is another gun, then just follow me," said Redwood, a bit surprised by how simple Fire's problem was. She didn't see why Fire needed the truck to get a new gun since Vault 222's armory was fully stocked. All Fire would have really needed to do was ask the quartermaster.

"wait what? are you serious?" Fire said following the commander to the armoury which was indeed fully stocked and full to the brim with guns, ammo, grenades, mines and combat armour a lot of combat armour, most of which Fire had never seen used in his life

"We can't have no self respectin' armed forces without weapons, now can we?" said Redwood. "We happened to run across th' good fortune of findin' a good arms dealer who was sympathetic to us, so we're pretty well stocked. Go ahead and take yer pick, but remember not to get too greedy."

Fire picked up an automatic combat rifle which had a little bit of rust on the barrel but nothing that couldn't be cleaned off with a little to no effort, he took some .45 calibre ammo and loaded it into the rifle "How's this? too greedy or okay?" Fire asked

"A .45 combat rifle is a good choice, if ah do say so mahself. It's a pretty versatile weapon, and it can fill a lot of different roles with th' right mods. If yer goin' with automatic though, remember to bring plenty of ammo, or maybe stick an extended mag on it."

"yeah, I will," Fire picked up some more ammo and kept looking through the shelves, he took some grenades and mines as well for a bit more defence in combat, he took the rifle over to the workbench and began to work on it adding and removing different mods

Redwood walked over and observed Fire work on his combat rifle. "Y'know, a compensator or a better stock might be a good idea," she suggested. "Y'know, it's not very often that ah see a soldier like y'all who really knows their way around a gun. Sure, they can aim, shoot, and reload, but not too many know how to really work with 'em."

"I'm not your average soldier... as many ponies say I'm special!" Fire said not realising what they meant by special Fire fitted the compensator and a recoil compensating stock to make the gun a bit steadier whist he was using it as automatics go everywhere

"yeah okay... you got any robots that I could rip a leg that shoot's lasers off?" Fire said looking up from his work "or a guy trapped on a conveyor belt about to be welded into a robotic suit of armour? or about to be crushed by some giant machines or what have I got to work with?"

"Hit me," said Redwood bluntly. This test wasn't just to see how skilled Fire was at unarmed combat. It was also meant to test his willpower and what he was willing to do. Being the commander of the Gator Teeth, many would hesitate to hit Redwood despite her saying to do it, and she wanted to see if Fire would have that same hesitation.

Redwood was a bit disappointed by Fire's response. "If Gadget says yer so great at unarmed combat, then ah need some proof. If y'all can land a hit on me, then that's all th' proof ah need." Hesitation like that could mean the difference between life and death out in the field.

"Commander you are my superior I cannot attack you" Fire said "besides what if I hurt you?" Fire left the armoury and headed back to his quarters to engage in one of his favourite hobbies  drawing, he went in and sat at the desk pulling out a piece of paper and drawing the first thing that came to mind, the commander

Fire was stubborn and wouldn't be convinced otherwise, and Redwood supposed that was admirable in its own right. After all, she was the same way. There was definitely some potential in Fire, and whith that right training and some guidance, he could really turn out to be something.
