"If your not going to get rid of that damned Institute spy then then we're going instead!" one of them yelled "it's either her or us!" he said as the argument began yet again over whether Riley should stay or leave, it ended with half the ponies in the room leaving the vault

Redwood sat down in the overseer's chair and sighed. This wasn't good. They were in need of numbers, and having all those other ponies leave wasn't doing them any favors. Just then, two guards walked in with Gadget and the other pony.

 

"Sir, a fight broke out between these techs after one of them assaulted Riley," explained one of them.

 

"We ain't got time fer this," said Redwood. "Put 'em both to work as soon as y'all can."

 

As he walked off, Gadget smiled at Riley.

Redwood sat down in the overseer's chair and sighed. This wasn't good. They were in need of numbers, and having all those other ponies leave wasn't doing them any favors. Just then, two guards walked in with Gadget and the other pony.

As he walked off, Gadget smiled at Riley.

Riley smiled back and blew a kiss to Gadget, she had to admit it she was in love with this Techie but right now they were in need of numbers, Riley fiddled around with the old overseer's terminal and began writing a log of the events that had happened today

Gadget blushed as he left the overseer's office, but Redwood was glaring at Riley.

 

"Yer lucky we got more important things to deal with than yer little fling with Gadget," she said. "Anyways, we gotta come up with a plan. Th' first step is to get more numbers, and th' general consensus is that we should look to th' town of Fairway."

Gadget blushed as he left the overseer's office, but Redwood was glaring at Riley.

 

"Yer lucky we got more important things to deal with than yer little fling with Gadget," she said. "Anyways, we gotta come up with a plan. Th' first step is to get more numbers, and th' general consensus is that we should look to th' town of Fairway."

"Fairway..." Riley brought up a map on her pip-buck and began calculating the population and chances of joining "Population: 45 largest un-controlled Settlement around" Riley began running more numbers "chance of joining... roughly 75% depending on time of day and season, best chances Winter, at 6:30 am"

"And I get the feeling that they ain't too happy with us" Riley said, "look they clearly don't like the factions currently in the wetlands it's best to get on their good side before we go out and attempt to bring them under our control..." Riley said attempting to explain

"Then how do y'all recommend we get on their good side?" asked Redwood. "Maybe we should try and rally a couple other smaller settlements first to really give ourselves a name."

 

If they wanted to get Fairway on their side, they would likely need to seem a bit less ragtag.

"Then how do y'all recommend we get on their good side?" asked Redwood. "Maybe we should try and rally a couple other smaller settlements first to really give ourselves a name."

 

If they wanted to get Fairway on their side, they would likely need to seem a bit less ragtag.

"Running predictions with added percentages of smaller settlements... prediction complete... your not gonna like these numbers... we need around twenty more settlements under our control... for any time of year... and fifteen or summer... we're a long way off"

"well yeah... not many though... what we could try is clearing out some raider groups or the like... maybe some sl-" Riley was interrupted by the sound of explosions outside the vault door. "somepony's trying to bust in... send one of the guards out to deal with them..."

"cool..." Riley said heading downstairs. "I've got things to take care of..." Riley gathered a few guards and took them down in the elevator to continue clearing out the lower floors. "YOU COMIN' RED?!" she shouted up to Red in the overseer's office as she went into the elevator

"Riley, there's one more thing ah wanted to talk about," said Redwood as she got into the elevator with Riley and the rest of the guards. "It's about yer little... relationship with Gadget. Ah promise ah ain't gettin' on yer case about it though."

 

After a little thought, Redwood was thinking that maybe Riley's crush on Gadget wasn't so bad after all.

"Riley, there's one more thing ah wanted to talk about," said Redwood as she got into the elevator with Riley and the rest of the guards. "It's about yer little... relationship with Gadget. Ah promise ah ain't gettin' on yer case about it though."

 

After a little thought, Redwood was thinking that maybe Riley's crush on Gadget wasn't so bad after all.

"Seriously!? you can't leave that alone for one minuet without bringing it back it back up again!?" Riley said quite angry

 

the Elevator arrived at the second floor and the group walked out heading down a series of corridors connecting the Elevator to the gas pumps

"Some of th' ponies around here still see y'all as just a machine, and ah was tryin' to think of some way to show that yer more than that. Ah think yer relationship with Gadget could work fer that, because it shows that y'all can feel things like love."

"Some of th' ponies around here still see y'all as just a machine, and ah was tryin' to think of some way to show that yer more than that. Ah think yer relationship with Gadget could work fer that, because it shows that y'all can feel things like love."

Riley ignored Red and walked into a room filled with gas the guard's didn't follow and stood outside waiting for Riley to come back out of the room, Riley didn't come back for a while... but gunfire could be heard inside the room as well as two mechanical voices, one the voice of I3-63 and another of a robot

"Ah'm goin' in. If ah ain't back after fifteen minutes, leave and don't come back fer us," ordered Redwood as she put a gas mask on and walked in. If she was hearing I3-63 talking and not Riley, that meant she had been damaged, or something else was wrong, which also meant Redwood needed to help.

"Ah'm goin' in. If ah ain't back after fifteen minutes, leave and don't come back fer us," ordered Redwood as she put a gas mask on and walked in. If she was hearing I3-63 talking and not Riley, that meant she had been damaged, or something else was wrong, which also meant Redwood needed to help.

Riley and the robot were both lying on the floor sparking, one of Riley's legs had come off of her body and it was sparking, sparking enough to ignite the gas around her creating a massive fireball which burnt through the room Riley had sustained too much damage and I3-63 said "damage sustained shutting down..." Riley closed her eyes and her head hit the ground

Redwood made quick work of the robot and picked up Riley, then ordered a guard to get her leg. Before she rushed her off the infirmary, she ordered another guard to have Gadget meet them there.

 

As she was putting Riley on one of the infirmary beds, Gadget rushed in and said, "Oh no. Oh god, Riley, no." Him and the doctor immediately set about fixing her.

Riley sparked some more giving the doctor a slight electrical shock as he touched one of the many fake nerves and electrical cables protruding from Riley's stump, there were more reminders of her synthetic body as steel beams began to have labels printed on them

"Don't worry, Riley, I promise I'm going to fix you," said Gadget. After a few more minutes of working, he had successfully reattached her leg and repaired a good deal of the damage, and the doctor had managed to fix most of her biological components with the aid of Riley's self repair systems.

"Don't worry, Riley, I promise I'm going to fix you," said Gadget. After a few more minutes of working, he had successfully reattached her leg and repaired a good deal of the damage, and the doctor had managed to fix most of her biological components with the aid of Riley's self repair systems.

There was a loud buzzing noise and Riley slowly lifted her head, she had a few dents in her metal bodywork but otherwise she was fine "w-what happened?" she said sitting up and looking around locking eyes with Gadget for a short second, she smiled at him thankful

"Oh, thank god you're okay," said Gadget as he hugged Riley. "The commander pulled you in here badly damaged and missing a leg, but the doctor and I were able get you fixed. We're going to have to do something about those dents later, but at least you're okay now."
