Are there similarities between mane 6 and pokemon?

Does anyone name their pokemon after the mane 6 if similarities can be seen between them?

I tried putting together a team of 6 from every pokemon generation, and the results are as followed:

Twilight-Starmie (I know Mismagius-being the magical pokemon would be better suited, but...too ominous and ghosty to represent Twi) I think Twi is best suited t the pokemon whose CENTRAL CORE glows in 7 RAINBOW colors, and is part psychic type.

 

Applejack- Diggersby: there are no apple pokemon, s I figured Diggersby would be good enough. Bunnies are fast like AJ, and like this pony, it's pretty normal and also a ground type dual. Close enough to earth pony, if it was an element

 

Rainbow Dash- Garchomp: a fast, mach speed flier and tough as nails

 

Pinkie Pie- Blissey: pink, and is the happiness pokemon. Suits The element of laughter to a T

 

Fluttershy- Leavanny: who better suited to the element of kindness than the Nurturing pokemon who takes care of smaller creatures?

 

Rarity- Delcatty: tough time not assigning the sewing pokmon, Swadloon to Rares, but I think Delcatty, the prim pokemon fit better. Dex entry even says That like the element of generosity, it dislikes dirt. And itgs former evo, Skitty, has a tail that resembles a pin cushion, so there's still that seeing aspect that Rarity is about seen in it.

 

Which of the mane 6's elements, personalities, and talents can you see in these other magical creatures? Are there any similarities?
