Diamond Tiara and her family

My argument is that Diamond Tiara comes from a broken home. I first started to wonder if this was the case when I watched "Cart Before the Horses", where while the other foals are with someone close to them, Diamond is with her butler. Well, why would she be with her butler instead of someone like her dad or mom unless the butler actually is closer to her than either of them? I doubt either of her parents helped her build the cart and probably bought it or hired someone else to build it. Another place where I noticed this was in "Family Appreciation Day" where Filthy is giving his presentation, however does not acknowledge his daughter, but she is wide-eyed and happy. I think that she may not be happy because she likes his work, but instead it is one of the few moments she has actually spent with her dad. In addition, as seen in "Crusaders of the lost mark", Spoiled Rich is the only one who parents her and she lives up to her name by disowning her. Filthy Rich has never been shown to be a jerk outside of Legend of the Everfree(unless he is in the comics, which I am not familiar with), so Diamond's behavior may have been learned from her mother. In the song of the episode "Light of your cutie mark", while Diamond is running by her parents, both of them look at her with disappointment, as if image was the only value she had to them.

 

The recent episode "Where the Apple lies" shows that Filthy Rich has a pretty good relationship with the Apples, which could explain why Diamond is inclined to bully Applebloom at all. She may be jealous that her dad has a better relationship with the Apples than he does with her. However, she has made friends with the CMC after standing up to her mother, which may mean that her relationship at home could be improving, but that is for the writers to decide.

I have always though Flithy is a someone who is constantly working and so does not have much time for Diamond and is not really a laid-back person anyway. And Spoiled probably has a busy social life and is disinterested in kids stuff.
