Wewius 0 November 6, 2016 Share November 6, 2016 (edited) Hello there! /) I'm Wewius, a German Fanfiction Author and vector artist (shameless self-promotion). As fellow authors, I'm sure beginning and experienced writers here know how hard it can be to avoid word repetition or find just "that one word", as if it was right at the tip of your tongue, but it just doesn't pop into your mind. Well, don't fret fellas, because I'm here to help your out! Well... at least in one case... But it's probably the most common case of word repetition we know and many many aspiring writers step into the "said-trap". Said-trap, you ask? Well the said-trap, as I call it. Is the continuous usage of the word "said" at the end of a dialogue. Like, for example, in this totally not constructed case: "Derpy! You can't just put a muffin in the ground!", said Carrot Top. "Why not?", said Derpy. "Because Muffins don't grow on trees, Derpy!", said Carrot Top. "Oh.. I didn't know that", said Derpy and gazed to the ground. "It's okay", said Carrot Top. "I'll show you how to bake them." "Really?!", said Derpy with a wide grin on her face. To avoid this, I created a handy online spreadsheet with hundreds of synonyms for said. You might think now, that this is nothing special, since there are many sites who can also deliver hundreds of such synonyms with only one search. That's true, but my spreadsheet also allows to filter all those words in terms of volume, tone and context. Something I haven't seen any "synonym finder" to offer. So, here it is: "Finding other words for 'said'"-Online Tool Feel free to use it as you please. If you find anything to be missing or wrong, just contact me though any means, written in the spreadsheet. I hope you find this tool as useful as I do. ~Wewius Edited November 6, 2016 by Wewius
