My MLP Theories

Hello, everypony. It's been a while since I posted something, so I've decided to post my own theories of the MLP universe. Let me know what you think.

Oh, just so you know, there is a 5th theory, but it's NSFW. So, if you want to know the 5th theory, go here.

1. The banishment of Nightmare Moon was a cover-up

From what we're told about Luna ever since the first episode of the series was that she was jealous of the attention that Celestia was getting during the day and wanted to make it an eternal night, but Celestia banished Nightmare Moon to protect everypony. But was it all a lie? I believe that there was more to the story than that.

My theory is that Celestia was actually an evil ruler that manipulated her subjects for control and power. Luna, however, wanted to expose Celestia for what she's been doing to the public. But before much could be said, Celestia either had murdered or banished Luna to keep her quiet. It actually doesn't matter if Luna was murdered or banished because she would b out of the way, either way.

After that, Celestia cast a memory-wiping spell to erase the memories of the subjects so that they'd forget of what Luna has already exposed, then she told them that Luna went rouge and had to be banished to keep everypony safe, just to keep everypony on her side. "But we see Luna later in future episodes," you might be saying. Well, when we first see Nightmare Moon in Friendship is Magic, Part 1, this was probably Celestia in disguise, and the Nightmare Moon that the Mane Six defeat in Friendship is Magic, Part 2 may have been an illusion that Celestia projected to make it appear that Nightmare Moon was defeated. Also, the Luna we see at the final few minutes of that same episode was may a copy of the original Luna. Celestia could have made this copy because she felt guilty of murdering/banishing the original Luna.

2. Twilight eventually becomes Celestia and Luna

Have you ever noticed that Twilight seems kinda similar to Celestia and Luna and vise-versa?

Could they all be the same pony? Twilight, some time after she became an alicorn and a princess, may have went back in time to help her younger self, her friends, all of the citizens of Equestria, but when far back enough to rule Equestria, as Celesita and Luna did. To avoid any confusion, like when Twilight was talking with future Twilight in It's All About Time, she splits herself into 2: Celestia and Luna. If you pay attention to how Celestia and Luna behave, they both have similar personalities and behavior Twilight has had throughout the series. Celestia appears to have alicorn Twilight's caring and motherly personality and willing to protect everypony at all costs. Luna, on the other hoof, has pre-alicorn Twilight's more-insecure and more-cautious personality. Celestia seems very similar to alicorn Twilight because alicorn Twlight has more experience and knows how to handle situations better. Luna seems very similar to pre-alicorn Twilight because pre-alicorn Twilight was more cautious and has trouble trying to fit in and make friends with everypony, like Luna did in Luna Eclipsed.

3. Magic is the only Element of Harmony that has power

Whenever the Elements of Harmony are involved in a plot, Magic seems to be the main and only focus, and is the first one used. It's possible that Magic is the only Element that's actually needed and the others are useless and are just for show, or the other Elements are only effective when Magic is present. During the 1st Equestria Girls movie, after Sunset Shimmer stole Twilight crown (which was Magic), Twilight showed no concern for the other Elements, and in the story prologue in Friendship is Magic, Part 1, Celestia used Magic (and no other Elements) to banish Nightmare Moon.

These 2 instances imply that the other Elements are probably useless.

4. Spike was brainwashed and is a slave

Have you ever noticed that when Spike says he wants to do something, everypony immediately discourages, and sometimes shame, him? It's like they're doing everything they can to prevent Spike from doing something major, worried that something bad from happening, like when Spike grew and collected all that stuff in Secret of My Excess.

It may be possible that Spike was actually given to Twilight when she hatched him, but it's not apparent to him because he's is in a friendly and caring atmosphere. So, yeah, this theory suggests that friendship is actually indoctrination. XP

Thanks for the video. I have a hypothesis about the elements of harmony:

Rather than the elements being the elements of harmony, I think that they are the elements of friendship and that harmony is instead an element rather than what they represent. Not only that, I believe that instead of Twilight  and Sunset representing the element of harmony they represent the element of magic and one is the awakener of the elements (Twilight) and central figure (Sunset).

Not only that, I believe it the one who wields the element of harmony is the main figure (leader).

You might wonder: who represents the element of harmony in that case?

Who?

None other Starlight.
Why?

I’ll explain. Starlight always goes to great lengths to secure peace and equality, which is a major part of harmony.  Not only that, her leadership skills (without the power hungriness and manipulation) has been shown to reflect that (watch the last few episodes and you’ll understand).

I agree with DrWolf’s theory about Spike so I believe that there are 8 elements and 9 wielders. In my opinion, the element of acceptance needs to used with the other elements to give the birth to element of harmony. Since the element of acceptance was never discovered, the tree of harmony was incomplete and eventually shattered.

I’m well aware I might be wrong but I just wanted to share this hypothesis.

This was my response to a theory on YouTube that happened to be way too long.
