Maple knew the grace period of no enemies would run out soon and once that door was open... it would only be a matter of time "Download the files into me All of them about my mother and this Ashera. Maybe the floor plans for that center if they're on that system. Then we can leave here quickly."

"Let me see that book," Celestia asked not wanting to just take it from him. "I might figure it out."

"Hmm, that sounds like a good idea, didn't knew your body was capable of doing this, but a very useful feature nonetheless.." Matiel said as he started doing what Maple asked.

Once he was done he then looked at the door as there was a very loud banging on it.

"Alright, I think we should go via the vents again, could you boost us up?" Metiel asked quickly as he scanned the area.

"Of course, read it whenever you like, you could learn even more from it than me at this point." Jack said with a smile.

Maple nodded and carried him up to the vent putting him in it first then climbing in herself. "It's possible because nothing of the 'real' me is left execpt the soul which is intertwined with the core of this machine. What you did was basically me reading a book really quickly." She explained "I think."

Celestia nodded and levitated the book over in front of her starting to flip through it quickly.

"Wow, that does make sense. It's after all way more complex then most robots who only have an ai to guide their bodies, I am not sure how it would work out in the end though as you still gather your thoughts from your soul. But I am not much into that magic stuff, technology is what I am good at." Matiel admitted as they were heading back to the others.

The others were fighting heavily as soldiers were swarming in like pest to the hallway.

"Did you to succeeded?" Betamor called out to them.

When Celestia was flipping through the pages, there was eventually a page where it showed information about the portal, but showed the keyword to activate it. *When our fates are intertwined, the boundaries are but a mirror of our existance.*, Wich had to be said in a chanting tone, but magic had to power the portal at the same time.

"Yes, we did. But Fluttershy will have to wait We found something big in there. I'll explain later, for now, we need to get back to the city" Maple ran outside and picked up woody started to fly off followed by the equestrians but Ember and Festus would cover the others retreat.

Ember and Festus took a defensive stance at the exit door Ember looked at Betamore "Get them out and we can ignite the exit!"

Celestia looked at the writing a bit unconvinced "What about this here." She said showing him what she just read.

Betamor looked at her for a second, then got an idea in his head.

"Then burn this, it is fuel, and it burns like crazy." Betamor said as a soldier gave him a gas canister, in which he threw it straight at the designated location once they were outside.

Jack looked at it and was reading those parts thoroughly.

"Yes, that should be it, or at least, that is the way to do it, but I think you need to chant that verse in their ancient language for it to work, these portals are as old as they were after all." Jack said

"Can't say tough that I know that language very well, only a few words at the very most." he said with a sigh.

Festus did light the gas can on fire and when he did both of the dragons ran quickly. After a bit Ember caught up with Maple "So did you guys get it?"

Maple nodded "Yes and something more important too We need to find Jack!"

"Why," Festus said also next to her.

"No time. See you in a bit" Maple said handing Woody to Ember and dashing to the city Going to find Luna.

Celestia realized he couldn't read that language and she didn't know how to speak it as well as Luna did. "Let's go back and see my sister I can read it but I'm not sure how to say this." She levitated Jack again

Betamor looked at her leave and then looked at the others.

"You may as well all follow her back the city.  Same goes to you Matiel, head back and tell Karthspire what you found. We still have to fix up some loose ends." Betamor said as he gave some orders, in which the soldiers started taking positions and aim at the exit.

"Good idea, it did say you had to *chant* it, that is a good thing to keep in mind." Jack agreed as they started heading back.

Celestia nodded and started her flight back

Celestia carried Jack back to where they found Luna, Maple was there already when they arrived. "Maple? Wheren't you with that assult?"

"Yes. Is Jack with you Celestia?!" Maple asked frantically "It's urgent."

"He is, and it's urgent enough for you to leave the field of battle I see what is it? Celestia set Jack down where he could hear Maple too.

Maple reviewed the file again "There's another with eldrich blood on this planet. Named Ashera."

Both the sisters jumped back and said "No way!"

Jack looked flabbergasted. Not because of Eldritch blood, but because of the name.

"Maple... Where did you found that name? I... I cannot believe you somehow know that name, it's not just Eldritch blood as in race-specific if that is what you are referring to, it is family blood, she is, or now was my sister, but she has been presumed dead for years... Just how did you find that name? Even I haven't heard it in a very long time, granted that she has not transformed yet.." Jack said, caught very off-guard by this news.

"The name was on that computer thing that we raided and get this she's not infected yet either. However... They have been injecting her with different DNA." Maple listed all of the different DNA she could find in the downloaded files "She's not going to be the same but she's not infected to say the least. I'm going to talk with karthspire about rallying an attack to rescue her. I know Fluttershy's in danger but This is much more important. Come with me Jack I'll need your help." Maple said picking up Jack and flying off to where Karthspire usually was and knocked loudly "Karthspire!" She yelled not sure if he was busy or not.

"Come in, I presume you have news?" Karthspire said to them, knowing how urgent it would be if someone were to knock like that.

"Yes, we do, it turns out my sister is still alive, but to get straight to the point, she is marked just like I used to be, and with how much time has passed she is going to transform soon, one way or another, doom will erupt." Jack said, much to his grief.

Karthspire looked out of the window for a second, then looked back at them.

"This is indeed very grave news, her transformation could mean the end of this entire city as well, such a transformation will cause a major change in the physic link of every infected on this planet, they will become incredibly dangerous and most of all know where to strike thanks to a new hive mind being born, it is in these times where we underestimate our enemies to no end, while they are working on such projects right under our noses." Karthspire said as he shook his head.

"Karthspire. This is going to sound crazy but..." Maple paused doubting herself but got rid of all of that in one swift motion. "I'm going to rescue her. We can't risk waiting any longer. I have the whole schematic of the center she's being kept in inside my memories, vents hiding spots weak points... Everything. I'm going and that's final. Like I said we can't risk waiting on the others. I'm willing to risk my own life to stop them from infecting her." Maple walked out of the room and got ready to fly away.

"And what, just to get yourself killed? Do we have to mourn yet another person because of this in the end? If you are not going to comply with me then I will have to make sure you do not get yourself destroyed like that." Karthspire said, where Zukir appeared out of nowhere in the doorway and held her down but not hurt or damage her in any way.

"You are not getting out there alone, I am doing this so you won't get destroyed by this reckless decision you keep on making with going alone, not going to give an entire speech over this again, you need to grow up and start acting like a soldier. You know what they call these acts in an army performed by a soldier? Treason, you might not be in my army but I am not going to let one of your planet's strongest heroes be a constant martyr when these situations erupt."

"You can get up once you promise you are not doing going to do something like this now. See this as a lesson, I WILL plan out this attack as soon as possible, but not with you acting like this, do you understand?" He said to Maple sternly as he looked her in the eyes.

 

Jack started to focus his thoughts.

'Hey Evelyn, can you hear me? I really need you here, it's very urgent, as in can't wait or we will face certain doom urgent!'  Jack thought to Evelyn with desperation.

Maple returned to gaze "I'm telling you. They're planning to do it soon according to what we found on the computer system. We! Don't! Have! TIME!" Maple calmed down a bit "However me going alone is still a bad Idea. So what if Me, Evelyn, Jack, Celestia, and Luna went... With you too. I know you're a retired fighter but Desperate times... Now can I get up and us talk about what NEEDS to happen or should we just let Ashera get infected and they come and kill us all. Because those are your choices right now." 

Evelyns voice came through the to Jack "Yea I hear you. Sounds like something's bad. Where should I meet you?"

"I am aware of what needs to happen, and I am not going to stand around for hours, but you need to calm down, you are so overwhelmed by this prospect that you are bound to make more reckless decision in such a state, everyone does that when they are in full panic like that, It's Jack's own sister and he is not panicking to a level as you. I am letting you up now because you at least are not attempting to charge there all alone, learn from this, don't dismiss it like you already know it, you wouldn't be making this constant mistake if you knew that." Karthspire said as Zukir went off Maple.

"We will be mounting an assault as soon as possible, remember what you said Maple? Unity? That was not what you were showing a few moments ago. We wait for to the others arrive and then we ALL go together there, that is what unity stands for, I am not a commander for nothing, I am pointing out those things to help you improve, there is always room for improvement no matter how experienced or strong anyone is, even I still have lots of things to learn." Karthspire said.

 

'Karthspire's office, please hurry, I need you.' Jack thought to Evelyn.

"I'm going to go now. Not to the center and get myself killed but I'm just going to go get 'Tia and Luna and be right back." Maple then took off heading back to the house in which the 2 alicorns where.

Evelyn arrived roughly around the time Maple got back with Luna and 'Tia. Evelyn then quickly ran over to Jack skidding to a halt in front of him "What's the problem?!"

"Maple has found that my sister is still alive, but she is marked, which means she is going to transform soon... And in that extent we are all doomed when that happens, it might even be too late for in what state she is now, we are planning on attacking that Conversion centre as soon as possible if we don't, everyone in this City will be in terrible danger." Jack said.

 

Karthspire looked a bit around.

"Are the others from previous attack coming as well? This is not exactly going to be easy if they don't make it time we will go without them, but lets at least head to the gates and wait up for them for 5 to 10 minutes, if they don't show up, we will leave without delay." Karthspire said.

Maple nodded "It took me 4 hours flying at full speed. I severely doubt the possibility of..." Maple was interrupted by Woody's voice.

"Maple? I figured you would have rushed to that center already you know... by yourself." Woody's  one good eye was slowly changing from a bright silver back to the usual green "Well since you're not. I'm going with you too."

"How'd you?" Maple asked getting interrupted again

"Teleportation plus Time stop. Ember said you Flew off so I left the battle to make sure you were ok and I'm glad you are." Woody answered with a smile.

 

"Alright. So we're attacking it?" Evelyn replied.

"Well, il be damned, that is what I call timing." Karthspire said with a laugh.

"If that is the case, I have an interesting plan, most of us go ahead while a few of us go and meet up with the others, so they can head to that Conversion centre as well. If Woody managed to get here so fast then we can make sure the others get to us as well. In fact..." Karthspire said.

"Jack, Evelyn, you 2 want to meet up with the others while we are heading towards that Conversion centre? When you found the others we will wait for each other at a location before it, that should be our best course of action, a full attack is better than a divided one." He said.

 

Jack then looked at Evelyn with a smile.

"You ready for that?" He asked her.

[Maple Bat 3,568]

"Sir." Woody said to Karthspire "I had to disengage battle to make it here that and stop time. Your forces are possibly still locked in combat. If they are then they're simply wrapping up but still, the fact they're in battle shows it will be some time before they can make it to the center possible even a full 24 hours since I don't know the situation of the battle." Woody was making motions with his paw as he was speaking and it was easy to spot the hole the bullet from early had punched through him but he wasn't healing it for some reason.

"Right. Which might be time we don't have." Maple agreed with him "If need be me and Woody here could scout the facility. The time stop should allow us to not get seen while looking around but we won't got in since Woody could get hurt holding the spell for so long."

 

Evelyn didn't say anything yet, she wanted to see Karth's reaction to Woody's comment then she'd make a choice.

"Good thing you mention that Woody, I should have known that Betamor would want to wrap things up tightly. But what about Ember, Festus and Windphaser? They should be wandering back by now. But this should not be too much of a problem, the Conversion centre is surrounded by a big city, or well ruins by now, and they have that secured very well, it doesn't make much of a difference if we would rush like crazy, it won't help here. We need to take our time with this attack because they will be waiting around almost every corner when we get even close to that Conversion centre, they have snipers, mechs, and so many soldiers that they will be keeping us in check with their defences. I understand time is of essence but trying to rush in there is not possible, no amount of time stops or teleportation will bypass that, let alone that teleportation doesn't work in conversion centres." Karthspire said.

"Reason i also want to the 2 of them to check upon the others to see how they are doing, i don't want to find out that Betamor has been slacking with his objectives, and is enjoying the fighting to much."

He then looked at Evelyn and gave stared at her. "Its time to go, no point for you 2 to wait around here, go find the others and report back to me via the radio chat to keep me update to date with their status." He said, not in the mood for holding this out longer.

He then spotted Woody's wound.

"Hold it, weren't you able to heal yourself? There is a bullet wound still in your body, are you suffering from magic depletion, or is it something else? I already noticed a faint colour in your right eye just for a split moment." Karthspire asked him with a raised eyebrow.

Woody was a bit nervous. "Maple go with Evelyn and Jack for me. Don't want Jack getting hurt after all."

Maple nodded to him "Alright see you at the center then."

After Maple left Woody looked back at Karthspire. "You noticed... It's been... Harder for me to focus... I fear that I'm losing my abilities. I don't exalty know what's happening but I, as you can see, Haven't healed that yet and that's because I can't..."

[MickeyAdaptus 2,211]

"I think i have a theory, you use your magic for almost everything, granted that you have an extraordinary magic supply, but even that doesn't last forever, but this could be untrue, but i think you should watch your magic in general, its a good thing but not something that should replace the things you should do without magic normally. I will have a doctor look at it, but you should let it heal naturally like any other person, i am never really fond of healing magic unless it's really necessary in cases of near death or fatal injuries." Karthspire said.

"Yeah, might be a good idea to follow his advice Woody, i know how it feels to lose my entire magic supply, tough for me its also happening a lot. But don't worry about me, Evelyn is already capable of protecting me just fine, but i would find it great if Maple would come along regardless." Jack said as he climbed on the saddle.

"No that's not it," Woody said but he knew what he was talking about. "Well it could be part of it, but I noticed I've started to... Distance my emotions from my thinking going with colder and harsh logic... Since my singing is something that is tied to the strength of my magic and my emotions are intertwined in the things I sing... Well with all the emotions I feel... It's hard to use them. I need something to help me keep my emotions in check otherwise I might lose my ability to use magic..." Woody stated all of this in a nervous but hard tone he knew what he was talking about.

 

Maple looked at Jack. "Well if they need more fighters down there I'm a better choice between us both anyway. He knows what he's talking about. Let's go Evelyn."

Evelyn lowered her wing helping Jack on again.
