"Well that's pretty cool." Moonshadow cheered up a bit. "I... Can't say we've met. Moonshadow. You are?"

"Equestrians..." Shining started after an awkward amount of time. "We stand here because our land is being threatened by those who want to destroy it. We must rise about them and show them the might of our army... Our unity... Show them we are not just warrior but we are Immortal Brothers and sisters in arms who will protect what we used to take for granted. We won't just go quietly. We are Equestrians Show them that we can be feared as much as them!" There was a cheer. His speech had been effective. "Good! We move at first light of dawn."

"My name is Caerson, we haven't meet indeed, i am pretty distant from others except for one called Twilight Sparkle, who seems to visit me quite often compared to others, something i would not expect of someone towards me." He said with a small smile.

He then looked intrigued for a second.

"Is it true that you are a shapeshifter? I noticed that you have a special kind of structure compared to other Ponies i have seen so far." He asked.

Moonshadow seemed happy there for a second but sighed again. "Yea... I can change form... But I've got little reason to... I... was accepted but the one who accepted me is gone. Infected by those monsters... Taken before her time." Tears formed in his eyes "I should have been watching out for her... I'm so useless..."

"You did what you could, it might seem like you didn't do enough but there are moments where it's beyond our reach to prevent something. In the past, i had attempted on working for a cure, but things turned out more tragic then I had imagined. We cannot change how events turn out, perhaps try to steer them to something we desire, but it never guaranteed it will work out like that in the end." he said

"You are lucky tough, the one you are talking about is still alive, or to a certain extend, she now has a mechanical body, something that i have been working on for quite some time as a replacement for her infected body, and she now stronger then before as well." Caerson said.

"W... WHAT! Maple... She's still alive." Moonshadow was suddenly overwelmed with emotions joy, confustion, anger for not know. "I..." Moon shadow got so overwhelmed that he collapsed onto the floor.

Shinging heard the thud and went to look at what the sound was. "What happened to him?"

"He got a bit to overwhelmed by the news I told him of Maple's new body, I guess at least someone appreciates my work." Caerson said as he looked at Moonshadow.

"You got quite the interesting sister, of all the ponies i met so far, she seems to be very interested in my work, and she is quite good at it herself, that is without a doubt." Caerson as he picked up Moonshadow and put him on some sort of soft and cloth that was lying on the ground,

"Twily? Yea she's always like that whenever it comes to information that wasn't present before in Equestria. Hope she hasn't been too clingy." Shining said happily "Are you busy at the moment. Twily was telling me all about you and I had a few things to ask you personally."

"She actually has been enjoyable to have around, despite sometimes being a little to hyped, it is something i can appreciate it." He said with a smile.

"So what did you wanted to ask?" He asked to Shining Armour.

"Just one thing at you brought it up asking about my sister... Do you... Or well did you have a family?" Shining asked "I'm not talking just the blood related or married kind. I mean like anyone who was so close to you that you thought of them as family?"

A hoof hit Shining in the back of the head. "Don't ask him that." Twilight said walking by him "He might still be trying to get over that or it's something he doesn't like to talk about." She set down some of the parts she had been carrying and started to tinker with them. "Besides we may not have a lot to get done but we still like to just make things."

"It is alright. Aside from my deceased wife and kids, I used to be very close with those that I served with back in the military. Granted back in my very early days when I was that long as a soldier, I actually used to be scared, afraid of death, but as time went on I knew I would not survive, at moments we where faced against incomparable odds. At one day I and a detachment of soldiers volunteered to go on an expedition to a dead world, where it was rumoured where the virus originated. But things where bad and we got ambushed, out all of the men, I was the only survivor. It was then after a few months I found someone that I would never have expected. The Terran prince was lying battered and broken in the snow, he had been presumed dead for years after he got possessed, but for some reason his body had survived throughout all the snow, being in some sort coma."

"It was then that I wanted to save him at all cost, which meant I had to stabilize cells in his body that where already unstable due to the possession, in end he lived and awoke, but at a cost that would haunt me for the rest of my life"

"I and he became close friends, and we were forced to fight our way through the dead world, fighting our way through thousands, I would have never made it on my own, it was by his now unnatural abilities that we managed to even accomplish such a feat for a 2 man army. But after a long and desperate attempt, it was starting to prove futile with trying to escape, it was then that I decided to remain behind so he could escape, and in a sense also gave me the opportunity to fake my death. I have heard alot about this accomplishments after that, but I wanted to stay from the war altogether, not wanting to expose myself to the mess that I had only worsened." Caerson said with a bit of grief.

"Wow..." Twilight said. "I'm sorry to hear that... But I'm glad you're here now. You've been through a lot!"

Shining nodded "I can't believe you made it through all that. You should feel proud of yourself for something like that. It seems intense I'd hate to go through something like that..."

Moonshadow started to sir a bit but didn't quite wake yet.

"Thanks, even tough i am not very happy with all the choices i made, i do guess there is some pride in that." Caerson said with a smile.

He then looked at Shining Armour for a moment.

"So how did the speech go? Was the morale good enough? Your race does seem to have lots of faith in its rulers and army, something that is very important in these of disaster." Caerson asked.

"Yea it went pretty well. I was nervous at first but I was able to pull through it. I think the moral is going to shoot up! We'll get this handled in no time!" Shining armor said "Well with a bit of luck too."

"Luck isn't something to rely on." Twilight said "but it is nice to have hope."

Moonshadow stirs more. "Ok... So where is Maple?"

"Indeed, hope is a good thing, but then there is the matter of the conversion centers. I heard about your armies having destroyed many, but this planet is big, and there will always be built at some location other than Equestria." Caerson mentioned.

He gave Moonshadow a quick glance.

"She apparently went out with Princess Luna to follow the trails of your brother to help out the others."

He then remembered something.

"What about the other armies, the Griffons, Changelings, Dragons and henceforth, what is their current status?" He asked Shining Armour.

"We've unified all armies under one banner. They're all fine as far as I know, each of them." Shining added "Dragons are the strongest out of us."

Twilight was still tinkering with the parts she had. "Well that is true but there are more ponies. Than dragons Quality isn't always better than quantity!"

Moonshadow dusted himself off "Well I'm ready to go fight when you are."

"Not yet give the others time." Shining replied "Any new weapons from you two?"

"I have been working on a weapon for a few years by now, and it is finally done, it does require some test firing, but i can say that it is strong." Caerson said.

"Does anyone have a mannequin or something like that where i can test it on? I am interested to see how strong this thing is in reality." He said as he picked the weapon.

Twilight smiled "I bought a few into the room after I came in. There all against the wall. Use as many as you need." She moved one of them to the center of the left side of the room. "Brother coul you test the weapon? Might be best if you did."

"Yea sure that'd be easy for me." Shining replied

Caerson nodded and gave the weapon to Shining Armour.

"One thing I perhaps never mentioned is that Unicorn should be capable of using firearms as well, would require a bit of practice as you would have to manipulate the levitation spell in order to pull the trigger for example." Caerson said.

"But now the weapon itself, aim at the target like you would use a crossbow so to say, but with this weapon you need to stand your ground hard, it has a pretty big recoil, but for you this should not be as much since you have 4 legs, which is better against recoil than 2 legs in the first place. I only know what will happen in theory if the beam hit its target, but i am interested to say what will happen with my own eyes." He said with a smile.

Shining acknowledged him levitating the weapon toward him examining it. "I think I can do that. Should be to do that with ease." Shining aimed the weapon at the dummy adn tried to pull the trigger succeeding. Firing the weapon/

When he fired the weapon, a very strong energy projectile shot out of it, which caused not only Shining Armour to stagger, but also the entire room shook when the weapon fired.

The projectile itself slammed straight into the dummy, but instead of what Caerson thought to be it, the effect was alot different, instead of its stated effect, it created a small vortex at where the dummy, it swirled around with energy until a few seconds later the entire dummy imploded, until not even the slightest monocule of it remained, in the end, the vortex had just faded away.

Caerson had a bewildered look on his face.

"That was not i had expected it to do." He said as regaining his balance.

Shining had fallen on his flank after firing the weapon "Woah... Now that's a weapon... Is it good that it wasn't what you expected? Or bad?"

Twilight was laughing "Well I'd categorize that as a success! That was pretty awesome!" She was laughing loudly which was scaring Moonshadow. He added, "Should I be worried?"

"It is strong, though there is one thing that is wrong with it. That vortex you saw was not because of the projectile itself, but it was a rip between space and time, the energy tried to breach something that was not there, and so the dummy itself got vaporized to the smallest molecules." Caerson said with concern.

"You can compare it with a teleport that goes wrong, like the moment you teleport, if something would interfere, and you would never reach your destination, you would instead be stuck between space and time, and that would cause you to get obliterated, in other words... You would simply cease to exist."

"I guess the reason this is happening is because the energies used for this weapon are just too unpredictable, instead of creating the effect of disabling someone's mind upon impact, I ended up creating a weapon that is capable of tearing a hole in this reality, even if it only lasts for a few seconds, it is quite devastating," Caerson said.

Shining's eyes went wide "Wow... That's intense... I don't think I want to use this then seems pretty dangerous..."

"It could be. Plus if the weapon would to fall into the wrong hooves." Twilight added levitating the gun over to her. "I think we should adjust it a bit before it leaves. Since it's so dangerous as it Maybe turn it down a bit."

"If only i knew how i could adjust it, remember that this effect had been totally different from what I had intended, perhaps cutting off some of the energy supplies from the weapon might help, but there is a chance that it will stay just a strong because that very energy starts to manifest in the material." Caerson said.

"However, you are right about it being dangerous in the hands of others, we should keep this weapon locked away, perhaps in the near future i might be able to complete it with better effects if i could find someone or something that could purify it." He said.

He then tought for a moment.

"Say, where are you guys heading with the armies?" Caerson asked, intrigued by what they where planning.

"We were just going to follow the trail and get stuff done from there. While it's not super effective we'll all stay together." Shining replied to him walking to where to where the dummy once stood. "Still..."

Moonshadow agreed with his plan "We're not sure how else we could go about this safely."
