Concerning questions in Sonic Rainboom

I've always wondered about a few of the topics that arise n "Sonic Rainboom", though I'm sure I asked before when the episode first premiered, but they were never really answered. So I think now if a fine time to ask again, and see what you guys think.

 

1: There's the question of why did Pinkie admit to never seeing a sonic rainboom before (we know she  saw one as a filly, and based her entire life's goals off of it, making others happy, as the rainboom had made HER happy) but also admittedly acknowledge that one existed, and know that Rainbow Dash was the only one to ever pull one off- as if there was no chance  at RD bluffing?

 

2: Why would some unicorn make a spell to walk on clouds? Was this a militaristic attempt in moons past, or some long, personal desire of the spell's writer to become a pegasi?

 

3: Why would some unicorn create a spell that would allow an earth pony to fly for 3 days? What would've been the advantage of this? A joint effort between unicorns and earth ponies- in spite of their racial status- to take down Pegasi forces? Wish fulfillment by a unicorn to allow their earth pony friend to achieve their dream of flying?

 

4: Shouldn't Twilight's spell to allow an earth pony to fly have backfired, since the spell had been cast on Rarity- a unicorn?

When all three tribes are living in harmony, there's a lot of practical uses for cloud-walking. Maybe someone just wanted to visit a friend from out of town.

Curiosity, probably.

I admit to not having seen the episode in a while, but I figured the spell applied to any non-Pegasus. Don't see why being a unicorn would make such a big difference.
