Your Experience at Conventions

So I'm going to Everfree Northwest with my brother and a couple of other fans whom I've recently met.

I'm not enough of a nerd to have ever been to a con before, so I'm not really sure what to expect. I'm a bit worried I'll be shy and will want to hide in a corner. I'm more like Fluttershy than Pinkie after all.

I was wondering if anyone here has been to cons before and what your experience was.

I've been to 19 cons in my life so far--anime cons, gaming cons, D&D cons, general nerdery cons, and BronyCon will be my 20th con next month.

My biggest tip is to get lots of sleep and stay well fed and hydrated. It's easy to get caught up in all the excitement of cons and forget bodily needs! XD

It's good that your going with a group, it makes going to panels and such more fun in my opinion.

Don't feel too bad if you don't make too many friends at your first con. Maybe you should see if there are any meet ups happening at the con your going to? Also, it's a good idea to plan out what events and panels you want to go to well in advance so your not fumbling with the con schedule trying to figure out what to do.

Have fun at the con! You should take pics and share them back here n_n

I'm a shy person in real life as well, but trust me... once you meet these people, they will become instant best friends. In my experience, getting along and having fun with other bronies is effortless, even if you're shy. You're there to have fun after all. :)

Posted this in another thread but I just saw tons on bronies at Pheonix Comicon this past weekend. Everybody thought my steampunk Rainbow Dash bag was awesome and one of the staff even took a picture of me. One brony also ran up to me and showed me his Vinyl Scratch skateboard. This was my first major encounter in public and I had such a great time.
