midnight blushed, "heh, no problem," he smiled, "ill be up here if you need me, probably fiddling around with the computers."

he hugged back and kissed her on the cheek before moving to the cockpit, checking the computer systems up there, making sure everything is working right, and that Apollo has a good feel for everything.

 

"Okay. Im gonna show Seras to the med bay. See you later."

Luke walked back over to the cat after another hour and pulled the top off. He was delighted to see that the electroplating process had gone smoothly, and that all the blade segments were now gold-plated. He took the segments, as well as what was left of the gold bar out of the vat with a pair of metal tongs.

Luke took some thin adhesive strips and cut them into small circles, which he placed at regular intervals on either side of the segments. He put all the segments back into the vat. He pulled a small stauette out. It was made from a jet black metal. Luke smirked, "glad I nabbed this before we blew the place. Pure roldite is hard to come across these days"

He dropped the statuette in the car and closed the lid.

A timer on top of the vat dinged, and Luke moved quickly from his sitting position to get the lid off. Luke grinned in delight when he saw the result. He quickly removed the blade segments from the acid bath and rinsed them off. After a short time, Luke had fully assembled his weapon.

It was a plain hilt with a grip and two gold nodes on either side of the grip. The adhesive had prevented the second round of electroplating from reaching the circles it covered. The blade was jet black, and about 3 feet long. On either side of the blade, there was a line of small gold dots. The whole blade collapses in on itself to stow inside the hilt.

 

Luke admired his handiwork, clicked it back into the hilt and walked off to show the others.

Luke felt a familiar discomfort creep in when he was suddenly introduced to this stranger. "oh, um, hi." Luke backed away a bit, looking at the ground.

You know, cannons, rocket launchers, rail guns. That sort of stuff. He said to give you his contact info if you were interested." Luke brought his hands up in front of him to page through the virtual interface on his glasses. A second later, Miyst received a message containing the information.

it was vauge, no telling what the sensitive goods are, but they could open it up later, make sure its legal, he frowned, nobody had answered it so its still up and waiting for a taker or two.
