1: All you need is FF2 (1988) version. I use the PS1 version. You can pick whatever version you prefer. (Find ways to grind early to get the thrill of it. My suggestion "Once you have Mindu in Party" get to level 16 on both magic and physical attacks, and leave 3 magic slots open til later. Before you continue on the game¨s journey. The grind is the point)
