A Canterlot Jaunt

Lyra Heartstrings was either a native of Canterlot, or grew up and was educated there from a very young age. She was also a student of Princess Celestia. It is not difficult to imagine that a pony as refined, dare I say polished, as Lyra likely was a native of Equestria's capital city. Her cultivated intellect did not lead her to heroics per se, but Ponyville was certainly more vibrant for her decision to settle there. 

Bon Bon (Sweetie Drops) was a sleeper government agent, and thus no stranger in Canterlot either. MLP FIM's first Ship are a well traveled pair, and I imagine they travel together frequently. This would inevitably include a jaunt to Canterlot, at least once in a while.
