Yoshi's Story (Nintendo 64)

My rating: 10 out of 10

Yoshi's story takes place in what is believed to be the same Island from Yoshi's Island (SNES). It is a tale about 6 young Yoshis who must struggle to stay happy and restore the super happy tree that makes all other Yoshi's happy.

The game starts off by telling you about the yoshi's home and how it was peaceful and prosperous, until baby bowser turned their life into a pop up story book. Afterwords Baby bowser steals the super happy tree and all the yoshi's become miserable. However six young yoshi's managed to escape bowsers grip, and they work together to bring he tree back.

There are six "zones" you must pass to fight baby bowser.

Each zone has different levels that you can play and you only need to beat one to go to the next zone. By collecting Giant hearts in a level, You open up more levels to play in the next zone, and each time a level is beat it is unlocked to play in trial mode (where you can go back and play the levels again and better your score)

The point of each level is to eat enough fruits so the yoshis can maintain their happiness. When you eat enough it will end the level or for certain levels, you will be taken to a boss battle.

combat in this game is similar to its counterpart Yoshi's Island. You use eggs to throw at enemies or you can use your tounge attack and eat them.... and of course, you can jump on them.... some of them.

You have a health system represnted by a flower, when all the petals are on the bud, you are at max health, and when you run out, you have one more hit before GOODBYE.

When you "die" in this game, a cutscene will occur showing your yodhi being taken away to bowsers castle.

And once a yoshi is gone, they stay gone, because the story mode Features Perma-death.

Over all this game was a huge part of my childhood and I have many fond memories of it.... which is why I got myself a new copy........... *puts it in and plays it*

This game, Yoshi's Island, Super Mario World, and Gradius 3 were a huge part of my childhood. I never asked my parents for a Gamecube or any ofthe other Nintendo consoles, I was content with my old SNES and 64
