Looking for fanfic readings, podcasts, etc. to listen to...

Hey everypony! Its been a while since I last posted here, and I haven't had much of a chance to look around yet. So if the rules changed on me and I posted something I wasn't supposed to, I apologize.

 

Anywho, so for the next few months I'm going to be doing alot of extra driving, and listening to just music during these long drives can get pretty boring sometimes. Then I remembered hearing about people around the fandom turning fanfics into audio form, making radio plays, podcasts, etc, and I figured I could download some of these and put it onto my ipod. But one problem, this fandom as gotten so huge I have no idea where to start looking.

 

So anybody know any good ones I can try?

 

If you need help with ideas for suggestions or to help narrow it down:

 

-I don't mind dark or sad stories, especially when such moments are balanced out with light hearted ones.

-speaking of lighthearted, I like simple but fun stuff too

-no videogame crossovers, as I don't play them like I used to

-NO shipping, please! Candace + Shining Armor stories are fine.

-I'd much prefer canon or background ponies, added OCs are fine (if written well)

-alternate universe stories are fine

-I started Doctor Who recently and i'm really enjoying it, i'd love to hear something with Doctor Whooves

-i've really wanted to try reading a fanfic with about how Luna became Nightmare moon sometime, maybe theres one in audio form? (bonus points if Discord is in it) if not, and you know of a great one, suggest anyways it so I can it read later.

-while I'd prefer an already converted file ready to go, I can do it myself if need be

 

That should be a start. If you need me to clarify or add more or got carried away, just say so. If you happen to know of something really awsome that doesn't fit the list, suggest it anyways (afteral, it mostly applies to fanfics).

Background Pony. An awesome story that grips you with mystery, excitement, interesting characters and good writing. It's very long but only because it's very good. It also fits the "How Luna became Nightmare Moon" theme even though it's quite long into the story (I won't spoil more than that)..

I'm sure you can find an audiobook version.

 

What about Human in Equestria stories?

Background Pony. An awesome story that grips you with mystery, excitement, interesting characters and good writing. It's very long but only because it's very good. It also fits the "How Luna became Nightmare Moon" theme even though it's quite long into the story (I won't spoil more than that)..

I'm sure you can find an audiobook version.

 

Looks interesting! Seeing how popular it is, like you sated, I'm sure someone has turned it into an audio book by now.

 

If I can't find one I know a pretty decent program that turns text to audio, and it even sounds somewhat natural. I'm still hoping for a real human reading as the program badly mispronounces some names, places, and even uses the wrong kind of "emotion" when reading certain parts. Example: imagine one character singing a song as he teases someone else, and that scene being read straight forward....Pretty hilarious actually, but still I'd rather try and save it as a very last resort.

 

What about Human in Equestria stories?

 

I tend to usually avoid them unless they cross over with another series I like or they REALLY interesting and unique.
