This includes plot and the apperance of the tripods. Please enjoy and comment if you enjoyed this Fan Fiction. P.S The Narrator is Dr Stable a character from the MLP episode Read it and Weep! It was two years ago since that deadful time. In which creatures from the skies had come and attacked the inhabitants below. It sounds understandable now, the idea that aliens from another world could come at take what you hold dear. But at the time nobody would of believed that Pony affairs were being watched from the timeless worlds of space. Nobody would of imagined that we were being scrotinized as a pony with mark on their flank who eats and sings through the day. Few ponies even considered that there was life on other planets. Yet across the gulf of space, minds immensly superior to ours regarded this Equestria with envious eyes. Slowly but surely, they drew their plans aganist us. It was on the 10th of Maregust that i had put my real fear of other beings into my behaviour. I remember almost running to Twilight Sparkles house early one morning, almost knocking down the door with my hoof as i knocked furiosly. Twilight, obviously flustered by my behaviour had swung the door open, her mane in a mess from her sleep that i had interrupted. I demanded as soon as possible as many books on Astronomy or anything to do with out of this world creatures. Twilight, seeing i was worried about something had sighed, told me to come inside and prepared herself a coffee. She asked me about my sudden urgency to get these books. I sighed, feeling almost embarssed about telling her as if by telling her what i had been fearing would make her cast me out like a beggar for my foolish ideas. I eventually told her that i had been looking at the sky one night, and had been worried about the red planet i could see in the distance, i had never really focused on the sky as much as i did that night as their had been barely any patients to take care of so i had time for myself. As i watched the planet i swore i could see flashes, like sparks from flint scraping against steel and it had worried me greatly. It had appeared to me that perhaps, there was something on the planet, watching us, planning something, building something. Twilight shook her head close to giggling. "Dr Stable...There is no life out there....There is no magic over there, no life that Celestia would of told us about already or anything that would attract our attention, are you sure you wern't tired?" I took this comment as a slap to the face, how dare she accuse me of imagining somthing i saw with my own eyes! "I am a 100% sure that what i saw was real. It can't explain why i think this but...i just...know." I smiled innocently, trying to make myself try and look the least crazy as possible. "Could you at least enlighten me to what this planet is called?" Twilight yawned, her sleep deprivation preventing her from much argument, she smiled weakly and submitted. "Oh all right." She said sleeply, yawning as she levitated with a majestic purble ball a brown dusty book called What is beyond the sky by G.H Swells. "Mmmmmmm it says here that the planet is called Dars, a very boring name if you ask me." She yawned again getting frustrated from lack of sleep now. "Can i go to sleep now." She yawned politely. I smiled and nodded leaving slowly through the back door. I felt some what at ease from what Twilight said, the idea of there being no chance of life on Bars, yet a doubt lingered in my mind, like a hunger that could never be satisfied or a thirst that could never be quenched. I worked that day as i had done for countless years, seeing and treating patients and saying goodbye to cured ones, yet I was different in what i was thinking that whole day, i just couldn't get the idea of life of Dars out of my head. I left work that day early, promising i would make it up tomorrow with a double work schedule, even though it was only 6pm i collapsed into my bed and fell into a troubled, haunted sleep. Then at midnight on the 12 of Maregust, a huge mass of illimous gas erupted from Dars and speed towards Equestria. Travelling through millions of miles of void, heading towards us came the first of the missiles that would cause so much Calamity to Equestria. When Ponies across Equestria saw this light heading from space they all had different ideas of what it was. Some said it was the return of discord, or a shooting star. When i saw this i could barely continue with my life as i normally had, i became extremely paranoid, snapping at patients and other ponies like a rabid animal. Several friends of me had come to me, asking what was getting me so paranoid and depressed, i really should of told them, but i was woven to tightly in my own personal web of fear and dread, there was only one pony in my mind who could reassure me. Twilight Sparkle. I returned to her house again, deterimed for an answer, but i could barely open the door from all the books piled around inside, after about two minutes of patient waiting Twilight managed to move the pile and let me inside, before i could even open my mouth to speak she had already answered my question. "I have no idea what i think! I have no idea what this could mean okay! It just doesn't make sense! Tge chances of anything being alive, let alone coming here from Dars are a million to one! Yet there it is, the metoers....coming from Dars, as if sent here like a dog can be sent to fetch a stick." Suddnely i could see that she was just as worried as i was, her mane was rugged and uncombed, she had bags under her eyes from the effort of constant research in a futile attempt for reassurance that what i believed was wrong. I sighed and knew it was my duty as a gentlepony to reassure the lady. I patted her shoulder and picked up at random books and asked had she read them, sadly she had read everyone i picked, i could see was close to bursting into tears from the fear of being wrong as well as the idea that something, possible evil could be coming towards us. I leviated a box of tissues that rested comfortably on a table near the door and gave it her, she nodded gracefully and accepted them, i left slowly sensing she needed time alone. Then i felt something inside....something i had not felt since i was a young foal, a small sweet tang of........love, i shook my head close to chuckling. "Maybe Twilight was right...maybe i'm going a little crazy." Then came the day when the first missile arrived, it arrived in the morning, two weeks after we had first seen it spurt from Dars. It landed with a crash inside the Everfree forest, not far from the Witch doctor Zecora's house. Two hours after it had arrived a large crowd had gathered around the red hot cylinder. It was a curious thing, it was made purely of metal, but what kind we will probably never know, it was glowing red from the journey into the Equestrian atmosphere and suddenly we heard a loud click, then a mesermising rolling, unscrewing sound. Applejack and many other ponies feared there was a pony inside trying to escape, they rushed for the cylinder but the intense heat stopped them before they could burn themselves on the metal. Another 3 hours and stalls had been set up around the cylinder, determied to make money from selling food and drink to watchers of the spectacle, suddnely 2 feet of shining screw emerged from the lid of the cylinder, when suddnely the lid fell off, unto a unfortunate ponies apple pie stand. Suddnely a large funnel apeared out of the top, resembling a periscope, when it saw us it immediently retracted. Applejack, Twilight and Pinkie Pie as well as some other ponies approached the Cylinder with a white flag held firmly in their teeth, for a minute there was nothing. Then another funnel came out of the top. Except this one did not retract, instead it conjured up a devilish beam of what appeared to be pure fire and incinerated two ponies next to Twilight. Shocked by the barabrity of this cylinder the ponies around started running in terror, however Twilight stood there, frozen in pure terror, i was apart of the fleeing crowd but as i saw poor Twilight i plucked up my courage i ran back towards her, the heat ray looked at her and she almost yelped, i could see the heat ray conjure up energy, about to turn her into a pile of ashes, but at the last moment i jumped, pushing Twilight out of the way, however burning the ends of my tail off. I yelped and screamed at the poor Miss Sparkles. "RUN! DID YOU NOT HEAR ME! RUN!" This time she nodded in fear and sprinted, screaming as she went, i looked back behind me as i ran, the funnel retracted, seeing as there were no more ponies to slay, i saw something coming out of the cylinder but i chose not to focus on it, my survivial was more important at the time. We ran all the way back to ponyville. The Dartians has struck!
