XUNUSEDXXX 3,459 December 1, 2012 Share December 1, 2012 I've noticed that some threads I intend to post don't really fit in any subforum on this site. I personally think that the "Feedback and Suggestions" should only be for, well, your feedback specific to your experience on the site, and also suggesting new things. Would it ever be possible to make a subforum that is just for talking about the site? I'm thinking about creating a topic on a certain area of the site, but I don't think this is the place to post it. Also, correct me if I'm wrong (I'm like 70% sure on this) that "Feedback and Suggestions" topics don't show up in the "Recently discussed forum topics" box. So, if I wanted to create a thread that was not necessarily aimed towards only the mods' opinion, but aimed towards all members as a whole, they might not be able to see the topic because it isn't displayed. Long story short, would it be too much of a trouble to make a section for talking about the site, as this section seems fitting more for suggestions and issues rather than just general MLPForums talk (also because of the fact that the threads in this section don't show up in the recently updated box)?

Line 1: I thought those two things are what Feedback and Suggestions is, though xD The only other type of thread that is posted in there is 'I have a problemmmmmmmm' which is always locked for needing to be a Support Ticket, instead. Line 2: I guess I'm confused. Define 'just talking about the site'. Like I said above, the two things you mentioned, feedback and suggestions, is truly what the feedback and suggestions forum has. What else is there? Also, you can always ask a mod about where a topic should go if you're not sure, just sayin'. Line 3: I'm not sure if this is the case, so I don't have a comment. Line 4: Yeah, elaborate this idea more plz, like I said. Not totally following you.

I sent in a support ticket concerning the matter, and Feld0 said this, At this time, the best place for topics revolving around MLP Forums itself is "General Discussion". So I guess I'll just put it there for now. Seemingly, he agrees that talking about the site in general isn't as fitting for the "Feedback and Suggestions" area. Also, confirmed that topics in the Feedback and Suggestions subforum do not appear in the Recently updated topics box. And It's kinda hard to define what I'm talking about when I mean general site talk, my apologies. But it's a category outside of Feedback and Suggestions. I guess you can lock this topic now. Founder Twilight Sparkle ✨ 8,527 December 2, 2012 Founder Share December 2, 2012 I'd like to open this discussion back up. The main reason we don't have an "MLP Forums Discussion" section is because we haven't observed a particular interest in discussing MLP Forums itself apart from people providing feedback on the site. Usually, discussions that are about the site are a form of feedback - and it should be noted that not all feedback comes in the form of suggestions. Even comments that are not directly actionable are useful feedback - for example, someone stating that they enjoy the design of the site and provide detailed reasons why tells us that we're doing something right and should probably keep that design, even if it doesn't necessarily give us a task to do. Such discussions are exactly what Feedback & Suggestions is meant for. Most discussions that directly concern MLP Forums are either 80% feedback in some form, which warrants placement in the feedback forum, or they're 80%* about a more general topic that MLP Forums plays a role in, which means 80%* of the topic's content is appropriate for General Discussion. * 80% is a fictitious value created to illustrate a point. No formal linguistic analysis has actually been performed on topics "about" MLP Forums. 1 Avatar credit: robinrain8 Signature credit: Kyoshi
