Courageous Thunder Dash 7,825 December 28, 2012 Share December 28, 2012 Here's a quick one I did of "So Many Wonders". It's quite easy, so if anyone wants the sheet music, send me a PM with your email and I'll give you the directions on how to view it. By the way, I used a new tone print on this piece. It is an ambient modulator tone print. I balanced the dry/wet value so that the attack can clearly be heard and the long decay with modulation could follow after. Hope you guys like it! https://soundcloud.com/menelik-david-kenneth-cannady/so-many-wonders-piano-cover 1 Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCeWg-TtBRMfqketa1ELyKGg Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/menelik-david-kenneth-cannady 2nd SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/thunder-dash-alternative/tracks Pony.fm: https://pony.fm/thunder-dash
DusK 1,264 December 28, 2012 Share December 28, 2012 Sounds a bit too wet; all the 'verb is melding together into a rather off-putting and nearly overpowering element in the mix. It's very mechanical, too. Velocities and timings are both pretty static in this, it would definitely benefit from some humanization. Everything in this track's pretty mono, too; usually, solo piano pieces pan out depending on notation to fill a stereo soundscape. The composition itself is great, though. I especially like what you wrote for the left hand in this piece. I'm assuming you know you to actually play piano, considering how you wrote this piece, so I strongly suggest you hook yourself up with a full-featured DAW if you don't have one, and a decent MIDI controller. Live play is pretty much essential to putting out great piano tracks. A full copy of FL Studio (its built-in key VST and effects are a good starting point for getting a good piano sound) and a decent 49-key MIDI keyboard would run you $500-$600 depending on which keyboard you get, about the total price of any decent budget instrument. This actually has humanization set. Every piece I make on this software, standard humanization is the setting. Yes, it does get a little wet, but this tone print was an experiment that I may or may not use again. Maybe because of the standard humanization, it is rather subtle. But still thanks for the critique.
