I obviously can't speak for everyone, but my general process for finding new artists and music goes something like this.

Randomize for an artist

if I like the song look at their other songs

if I like those other songs, look for their presence on the web.

 

My suggestion is that there be a section or button that could house the artists website, facebook group, google+ page, myspace, etc

 

I'd recommend using any social media website not directly related to music. I think that links to sound clouds and band camps would deter the purpose of pony.fm. If they want to link their other music then they could do so through the use of their website.

 

EDIT: ironically I put myspace which targets musician on the list although I crossed it out because nobody uses it for social media. Not sure... The joke was that nobody uses it, but it targets musicians so I guess musicians use it? I'll leave it for posterity.
