Harmony's Reign (A Fanfic)

Meh, just a concept I had, so here's a prologue for you! I don't know if I should really write the story. I know it's got loads of typos.

 

Harmony's Reign

 

Prologue

There is magic in this world, that much we have always known. But we only know of so much magic, only certain types. However most of the world's magic has been forgotten, or we have become blind to it.

 

Long ago the world was ruled by six beings, each was a combination of parts from all other living things. The dragonequi. Each dragonequus used his or her magic to bring a certain aspect of life to the world, and to maintain balance.

 

Harmony was the dragonequus of peace and of balance. He was the oldest of the dragonequi, but not the most powerful. Harmony made sure there was peace between the all living things, that they would get along.

 

Discord was the dragonequus of chaos and instability. He brought the chaos of the wild, the unpredictable element of life. 

 

Ferocity was the dragonequus of violence and death. She brought death to our world, she was responsible for all the predators who preyed on other animals. But in doing so she helped maintain the circle of life. 

 

Elegance was the dragonequus of beauty and love. He brought all the beautiful things to the world, and was responsible for the feeling of love. 

 

Joy was the dragonequus of happiness and friendship. She brought that fantastic feeling you get when your just being with your friends, that feeling of fun that feels like it will never end. 

 

Lastly was Mystery. Mystery brought, well, the mystery to the world. But along with that she brought with her that feeling of  wonder and amazement, and that urge to explore. It has been argued she is the most powerful of the dragonequi. 

 

Together all six ruled over Equestria and the entire world. If only one ruled, the results would be disastrous, but together the six balanced each other out and created the balance of the world, the circle of life. Harmony needed some way to protect this balance if it was ever threatened, so he created six magical artifacts, he called them the Elements; that's where we get the name, "Elements of Harmony". Discord was the element of Laughter, Ferocity of Honesty, Elegance of Generosity, Joy of Kindness, and Mystery of Loyalty. Harmony had the last element, Magic.  

 

All living things were content under the dragonequi's rule. Except one, my sister. 

 

My sister and I were born during their rule. Our father was a unicorn, our mother a Pegasus. We were treated with respect besides being different from the other ponies, this was before the war between the races. But my sister wanted more than respect, she wanted power. She thought because she had both wings and a horn she was better than other ponies. She began to teach herself magic, dark magic. I told her not too, but she would not listen. One day she told me to go on a walk with her, she told me she was going to overthrow the dragonequi. She told me she was going to steal the Elements of Harmony, and together her and I would rule the world, or at least Equestria. 

 

One day my sister set her plan in action. I went with her, reluctantly, but I was scared. Not of the dragonequi, but of her. She had become so power-hungry I was scared of her. We traveled to Canterlot. After that I don't remember much. All I remember was a fight, a terrible fight between her and Harmony. I remember watching the dragonequus collapse under her hooves. 

She had stolen the element of Magic before the fight, and had used it to defeat Harmony with his own Element. My sister was about to strike the killing blow with her horn before the other dragonequi rushed in,

"Quick! get your elements!" Harmony called. Discord was the only one who could get his element fast enough. The others were about to get their Elements before my sister spoke.

"No!" said my sister, "Stay here. Or I kill him." The other dragonequi had no choice. My sister banished them, turned them to stone, killed them, or something. I don't know, I had closed my eyes for I did not want to see it. Only Discord was untouched. He still had his Element to protect him. My sister took the other Elements.

 

Discord was furious. Discord knew how to wield the Elements better than my sister, and he did just that. Using just his Element, he took back all the Elements. He banished my sister and I back where we had came from, leaving him lone ruler of Equestria.

Discord, without the others to balance him Discord was a terrible ruler. Life was completely horrible. The unicorns, pegasi, and earth ponies were in constant battle. 

 

But my sister had a plan. I was smaller and more sneaky than her, and she convinced me to steal the Elements. I didn't dare disagree with her.

I stole them and brought them back to her. After that my sister returned to Canterlot to fight Discord. Discord saw she had all the Elements and knew he could not win. Before he was turned to stone, Discord told my sister,

"I know you want to rule Equestria, but you will never be Queen!" 

"Then I'll just have to be a princess instead." said my sister, and with that she turned the last dragonequus to stone.

 

My sister took the name Celestia, Princess Celestia. And has ruled over Equestria ever since. 

It took many years before I could stand up to her, and when I did I was banished to the moon. But ever since then I have been waiting for my chance for rebellion. Waiting for the the chance to set things right. And now that Discord has finally been released again, I believe that time may be now.
