MandelSoft 29 February 17, 2013 Share February 17, 2013 So, I guess everyone has seen the Season 3 finale and saw Twilight reached her full potential: she became an alicorn by learning the most important lesson about friendship and she is now very powerful with magic (though, she already was powerful before that). Now you might say that it's a bit unfair to her friends, but is it actually? Maybe they have to discover their own full potential, their extraordinary special talent that makes them equally powerful as Twilight at their respect. Some of them may have already found them. Here are my thoughts about it: Pinkie Pie Pinkie Pie may be an earth pony, but she does things no other pony can: defy the laws of nature with fun. This makes her cartoony, but this may also have to do that she might discover later a new form of magic, the Magic of Fun. This would have the consequence that it is possible for earth ponies to perform magic on their own, but it's not the same magic we are used to. Or maybe, she already did discovered it... Applejack Applejack is a hard worker. She takes great care of Sweet Apple Acres and she has to work hard for it. Quite some of the work is based upon strength and endurance. She may discover a power within herself that makes her even stronger. She could do anything when she's motivated enough to do it, giving her magical enhanced strength and endurance. Rarity Rarity is very creative with dresses. However, she might discover that her creativity is not limited by making dresses, but to a whole range of other things. In fact, she might become a versatile artist with lots of creativity. And this creativity without bounds may be very helpful in other situations too. Fluttershy Fluttershy is very good with treating animals. She can even tame fierce creatures like bears. But there are some clues that her powers aren't limited to that; right off the batch from part two of the very first season pilot, she seems to have the ability to tame monsters. That's right, she can unlock the kindness inside any creature, no matter how fierce it is. She might not even fully realize it, but she already did a few acts of extraordinary kindness. This can be called a super-power. And then there is the Stare, which also seems to have taming effects... Rainbow Dash Rainbow Dash is one of the best flyers of Equestria. Funny enough, I think she already had unlocked her special super power all along: the Sonic Rainboom. She is the ONLY pony who can perform that, and the ability is very, very rare. But has she reached her full potential? Almost. She is in the Wonderbolts Academy now and it's only a matter of time to actually become the number 1 flyer of Equestria as the Wonderbolts Leader. To cut a long story short, it seems that Twilight is not the only pony of the Mane 6 who can have an extraordinary skill and she may not even be the first... I'd like to hear your thoughts about this Best, Maarten
Princes Cadance 345 February 17, 2013 Share February 17, 2013 I already think that Twilight becoming an Alicorn was a lot I mean sure she is really powerful and wise but she's what, 21? ish. Also Twilight becoming an Alicorn ruins the whole 2 earth ponies, 2 Pegasus and 2 unicorn thing which seems really unbalanced. But the show has seemed really repetitive recently so this might be a nice turn in the way things go. As for the others discovering their full potential, personally I don't think it will happen nor is it a good idea but of course I could be wrong.
Metaright 76 February 17, 2013 Share February 17, 2013 Interesting ideas. I'd buy all of them except for Rarity's. "Extreme creativity"? Surely there's something more magical/useful than that she could have. She's shown proficiency at finding gems, so maybe she'd develop a kind of magic that allows for manipulation of the Earth? 1 Pretty Pony Analysis Reviewing, analyzing, and overthinking cartoon horses since 2013. Metatora 37 February 17, 2013 Share February 17, 2013 Considering Twilight is now a godlike being, the other five are pretty much outclassed in every way. Alicorns are (at least) several tiers above normal ponies, so the rest of the Mane Six are just sideline characters at this point. So even if they reach their full potential, they just won't be able to compete, so to speak, in any way with Princess Twilight. This is exactly what I was afraid of with this whole Alicorn thing. How do you write a solid show based on a group of friends when one of them is what amounts to a god? The other characters are either going to be tag-alongs with no real relevance or the godlike one is going to be a walking plot-device and no longer a character. I could go into more detail about my position on the matter, but this isn't the place for a several paragraph long rant
PoniesPlease 365 February 17, 2013 Share February 17, 2013 I recently thought that if Twilight wouldn't lose her princess-hood, then the others would gain their own princess-hood. It's certainly a viable theory, and they wouldn't become Alicorns in that sense. Just Princesses. Then again, Twilight might be a Permacorn (Permanent Alicorn; I don't think it'll catch on either), and then we can all have fun watching two pegasi, two earth ponies, a unicorn, and an alicorn learn about the magic of friendship for the rest of our lives?
