Stalliongrad 982 March 7, 2013 Share March 7, 2013 It's been a trend for awhile now. Do things that help the environment, use less resources etc. Most of my friends claim they are green. But when you get down to it they don't seem to realize that it is expensive. In fact I think that some people are being ripped off by companies trying by trying to go green. One of my friends just bought a Toyota Prius. This car is supposed to help save the planet but as Jeremy Clarkson has pointed out its more harmful to the environment to buy one of these cars. You spend about 20 Grand more to get roughly the same amount of fuel economy as a comparable Corolla. And when it comes to food they wont eat at my house because I'm not green. I can't afford "Organic" chicken and stuff like that. 1 pack of Organic chicken with maybe 2 chicken breasts costs almost twice as much as a "regular" pack does. I can't cook for them anymore. It's gotten so annoying for me, I went to the store to buy stuff but i was the only one in line without one of those reusable bags I could hear people talking about me. So I ask how does one go green ..... Crispy 5,563 March 7, 2013 Share March 7, 2013 Tesla's the way to go over Prius. Aside from that, solar technology has become much more affordable to install in your home, taking you off the (most likely) coal powered grid, especially with some of the recent breakthroughs with nanotech. http://www.mnn.com/green-tech/research-innovations/blogs/5-breakthroughs-that-will-make-solar-power-cheaper-than-coal Geothermal has proven very useful in heating and cooling homes, as well. As far as food goes, that one's a little tricky. Best you can do is buy local, really. Farmer's markets tend to be in plenty of small towns and you should hit those up as often as possible. You get super fresh produce, meat, and eggs, and local farmers get cash without subsidizing to Big Farm. 1 GET IN THE PIT On 8/23/2012 at 1:54 AM, Djenty said: ON MLP 4UMS ERRYTHIN IS SRS
