I apparently prefer The Crystal Heart Spell novel over Magical Mystery Cure

I mean, I know both involve Twilicorn, despite the fact that one's a novel and the other's a television show episode.  However, I seem to prefer the book over the Season Three finale, and I have no idea why.

I guess it has to do with the fact that the novel explained Twilight's new life as an alicorn princess, whereas Magical Mystery Cure ended before it could receive the chance to establish Twilight's brand new princess-life.  That, and The Crystal Heart Spell had a satisfying, if predictable moral: Even as a princess, Twilight still has to depend on her friends, whether on making political decisions, or resolving world-ending crises with the Elements of Harmony.

But other than that, it could be any reason besides the two I've established above.  Do you find that strange?

Well you did say why. :-) Those reasons were fine ones too. I personally loved MMC and the book seems to fit perfectly with MMC, or at least could be a glimpse, interpretation, of what one writer thinks the show writers are thinking.

I don't think explanations are needed. People like what they like and what makes them feel good.

I've never read that novel, but yes, you again made me realize why I was confused about Twilicorn.

The episode was paced way too fast. No one knows much about Twilicorn at all, and that's filled me with dismay.

See, before I'd seen any MLP: FiM, I'd read a lot of the wikia, so I knew most of what was going to happen ahead of time, and, as such, was waiting for it to happen excitedly.

I'm willing to give that up and see the rest of the show unfold, but they didn't give me much to work with. I at least want to make inferences.

For example, I knew next to nothing about "Ticket Master", but I was able to infer that she may decline both tickets in the end. And she did!

It gives me joy to guess what happens next, but if I can't even make an inference, I don't know what to do.
